(Exeggutor vs Victreebel) vs Vaporeon
I see all over the place "Exeggutor is the best Vaporeon killer," but that doesn't make sense. Defensively, obviously Exeggutor is better (his psychic abilities perform better against Fire types), but offensively, shouldn't it be Victreebel because Exeggutor doesn't have a grass quick move?
Victreebel with Razor Leaf / Solar Beam:
Razor Leaf = 10.34 * 1.25 * 1.25 * 222/168 = 21.32 dps
Solar Beam = 120 * 1.25 * 1.25 * 222/168 = 247.37 dmg/use
Exeggutor with Zen Headbutt / Solar Beam
Zen Headbutt = 11.43 * 1.25 * 232/168 = 19.73 dps
Solar Beam = 120 * 1.25 * 1.25 * 232/168 = 258.93 dmg/use
Both quick attacks take ~12 seconds to charge up 100 energy, in which time Victreebel does 19 more damage, more than making up for the extra 11.5 that Exeggutor gets off of Solar Beam. Yes, Exeggutor has 12 more Defense and 30 more Stamina, and Zen Headbutt's lower cooldown allows for easier dodging, but Victreebel's Petal Blizzard performs roughly equal to Solar Beam, meaning you have a 1 in 3 when evolving instead of a 1 in 6 of getting a "Vaporeon killer" moveset.
Disclaimer: I thought the dps difference would be a lot more before I typed this all out, but I still think Victreebel (and even Vileplume) are strong enough contenders that Exeggutor shouldn't be known as THE Vaporeon killer...

This site's "true dps" makes a few assumptions (it doesn't take into account defender weakness bonuses and assumes the defender has a defense of 100), meaning it isn't actually the dps your pokemon will deal in every situation (like the one I explained here). I think a Tangela is the Vaporean killer if anything. Movesets except one are very advantageous and vine and power whip is the best possible moveset against water. Power whip is very underrated and is the best grass charge move and superior to solar beam when attacking gyms. Plus who is gonna evolve multiple low CP exeggutor when u can have a plug and play Tangela ready to earn max prestige.
Exeggcutors are best used as gym defenders with the confu/seedbomb or psychic combo and monster CP multiplier. TBH Vile/Vic/Venus are better than exeggutors because of the lower CP and ineffectiveness as defenders. These three pokemon only really have one possible use. If you evolve a Exeggute you want gym defender moveset not solar beam. Tangela is a go to mon for me I use mine very often.
