Celebi Johto Event?

In b4 people complain how irrelevant Johto is besides Ttar.

Tyranitar and Blissey beg to differ about how irrelevant Gen 2 is.

Autocorrect changes Ttar in the original message. 🤣

Of the nonlegendaries, theres a fair number of relevant pokemon, blissey and tyrantiar are the obvious ones, but Pillowswine gets mamoswine in Sinnoh and is a pretty good ice type on its own, Scizor's the best steel/bug attacker tied with metagross/pinsir respectively, Houndoom's a good dark type if you cant get a tyrantiar. Espeon and umbreon are both good for attacking and defending (though we all have those in spades). Theres also a few pokemon in johto that got evolutions in gen IV other than Pillowsine; Sneasel, Murkrow, Togepi, Yanma all have great potential with their evolutions

With the event moves, Typhlosion and Feraligatr will actually be very strong, so it'd be worth stocking up on them. Johto's got a lot more relevance (thought mostly potential relevance) than people give it credit for

Durring the Kanto event, I found more than a few wild Dratini and even a wild dragonair, and considering partly cloudy/sunny weather are a lot more common than windy weather, we may well see a bit of a spike in wild larvitar

Not like most of the common trash that spawns outside matters, regardless of what gen it's from. But they could very well also up the spawnrate of uncommons and rares from Johto even further which I think would be welcome to many players.

Hyped for Celebi, although I hope the quest isn't possible to complete as fast this time around.

The Mew one was fast depending on how lucky you were finding a Ditto, doing the raid exploit to clear 10 of them, and if you had the foresight to keep 400 Magikarp candy on hand. Granted the last one is a non-issue for most people but for myself and others finding a Ditto was the biggest hangup. At least I found one during the Kanto event, unlike some who went months before finding one.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty excited to see what needs to be done for Celebi. I also need to find myself some of the evo-item mons as I'm guessing using a specific one may be a requirement.

I refused to do the raid exploit, but ditto was an uncommon spawn at my house (1-2/24 hrs)...I got hung up on Karp candy, and lots of people I know got hung up on the excellent curve ball.

By the time I got to it the raid exploit had already been patched.

Excellent curveball was a non-issue, I managed to zing one on a Sandshrew before I finished the 50 berries quest.

It was definitely luck-dependent because of the Ditto, I spent an evening catching 400-500 pokemon in that part (not just potential Dittos) until I found one and many people had it way worse. A local chat calling out Dittos helped many others.

I saw many more casual players struggle with the Magikarp, it was definitely a big hurdle for some, even if it was a non-issue for most long-time players.

I also think evo items will be used in some of the quests, that's why I started keeping more than 2 each a while back.

If it means I can farm candy for some of the ones I’m lacking then it sounds good to me. Houndour, Togepi, Miltank, Yanma, the starters, possibly even a chance to find Unown.

Yes it is somehow irrelevant since increased blissey, larvitar, mareep, unown and togetic spawns are not expected to be as effective as they sound.

The only thing good i'll be seeing is houndour and snubbull having increased chances so you will have a better chance of getting a shiny, as well as dex filler time for those who do not get some rare pokemon like ampharos.
