Trade Bad legendaries?

I've got about 20 articuno, only 3 of which I feel I need to keep, my 2 best ones and my shiny, the same applies for zapdos (I have 10, but only need to keep 2 as my best one is my shiny) and im wondering if I should trade away the others for the candy, I can get max distance on all of them

Im thinking of trading them for something like dragonite/Tyranitar or some other more useful legendary

Yes, 6 candies is totally worth it. Just remember you can only trade 1 per day, so trade the ones you want candy most.

Oh crap, right, ill only be able to get max distance on them on the last 3 days

Where do breakthrough/research catch pokemon fall in the trade candy? are they always one candy?

The old ones that don't have any location on them are 1 candy. New ones have the location you caught them and they behave normally.

I know, but I mean research pokemn, they dont have a location, but I traded a research lapras to someone and got 4 candies for it, or could that have been from them trading distance pokemon?

What would you trade them for?

I doubt anyone would make that trade, unless a shiny. I wouldn't even trade a Dragonite to myself for a level 20 legendary, at least level 25 or something. Level 20 Tyranitar maybe, if it had fire blast.

Absolutely, but trade like for like.

It's how I ended up with my 44% Mewtwo *flex*

If you're talking about utility of movesets amongst Mewtwos, I assume that SB Mewtwo will still be generally preferred as it is the only 2-bar move.

If you're talking about comparing the two, I imagine they'll have a complementary role based on typing, though who knows how long it will take to get Giratina released given the questions we have about it.

Also, one's a fast move and one's a charge, so you're not comparing apples with apples. More like apples with pears.

Ghost is not weak to psychic, it's neutral. Gengar is weak to psychic because of the poison typing.

Depends on your dust and RC reserves. 2000 dust for a RC (the cost for Great friends) might be a good deal.

Mostly I mean that its near guaranteed giratina's going to get a ghost charge move, either shadow ball or its signature shadow force, but shadow claw's debatable the best ghost fast move (its so good, it actually makes haunter a viable attacker). Mewtwo's use of shadow ball is to be a pseudo ghost type as the only other ghost attacker options are banette or Gengar, both or which are frail. the comment was mostly about Giratina use as a ghost type attacker making shadow ball mewtwo unnecessary, as agaisnt Psychic types, Tyranitar's king.

While both Giratina and Mewtwo are weak to ghost, Giratina would have STAB and a ghost fast move (again assuming its gets shadow claw and the very likely ghost charge move) would that STAB be enough to over come mewtwo's greater attack stat because it doesnt have a ghost fast move?

As for release, I think it'd be like with the weather trio, maybe dialga palkia and giratina at the same time, be a great way for ninantic to get a bunch of money from the lack of people getting raid passes for the regi's, so I think we could expect them within 2 months of gen IV's release, which already seems like it will be coming out in no more than a month

"agaisnt Psychic types, Tyranitar's king."
SB Mewtwo has better DPS against psychic types than Tyranitar.

As for Giratina, Origin forme apparently comes pretty close to Mewtwo's DPS if it gets SC/SB. Remains to be seen what happens with the movesets and how they handle the formes.
