The thing I like about the EX raid is that I KNOW people are going to be there. I still don't have the big steel trashcan because no one shows up for the raids. The most I have seen for them is 4...and then 1 of them didn't join the battle. If they changed the EX pokemon, it would have to be something in high demand. If they take Mewtwo out and make him a normal raid boss, you still need to rely on people showing up to help you.
Will Mewtwo Leave the EX Raid?
Ive been wondering this for a while, does it seem like mewtwo will ever leave being an EX raid? I say this because theres a lot of mythical pokemon coming up, and I dont think even if they did one every month they'd finish all of them before we get to even gen V, not only that theres just a lot of legendaries in general (unless most of the lesser legendaries dont return to raids for a long time). that and most players have, at the very least, some number of mewtwo, I have 2 myself, but I know people that have something like 20, and some even more of them, and are a bit tired of them. Yes they are an extra tier 5 raid that give out tier 5 rewards, and you do get at minimum 3 extra mewtwo candy, and possibly a better mewtwo, but then theres no reason to ever power one up because you could always get a better IV one if you dont have something like a perfect one already, and a lot of them dont like going through the hassle of planning a raid for soemthign they already have
Does it seem like they'd ever chance the EX raid and release mewtwo as a standard raid boss or just keep mewtwo as an EX forever.
Personally, I hope they get rid of it and make it a standard, both to make it a bit more accessible to people that dont live near EX gyms (like I do) but also to add another legendary, one with different counters so players will have an intrest in raiding or using something they didnt before

That's true. I have only done a few, most were at the Mall of America, which is very high traffic. If you get there when it pops, it fills up with 20 people instantly. After doing that raid, I switch accounts and go in with the next group, normally around 6 or 7 people. The one I was concerned about was a weekday raid at the park I take my kids to. Surprisingly enough, we had enough people there when it popped to do 2 groups. I think the best thing to do is get there early.
I don't see any reason to make mewtoo a regular tier 5. I know the legendary scene is dry right now with the Regis and won't get better till palkia shows or if rayquasa returns, but just throwing him into regular raids after all this time seems kinda lame. I would not be against retiring him for a time and bringing in maybe dioxis
I'm not opposed to the idea of letting Mewtwo leave EX raids, but honestly I don't know what you'd replace it with that would get people as excited. Mewtwo has a pretty unique combination of being a very strong pokemon, being extremely iconic in the franchise and being in limited supply due to never having been available other than from EX raids. Rayquaza would've been good for EX raids if they hadn't released it normally.
Weather trio with signature moves would be a decent idea I guess, would keep people interested enough to go through the trouble of attending a prescheduled raid.
"limited supply" I know someone who has over 20 MewTwo's. That's not a "limited supply", it depends on how lucky you are or how active you are with raids. Now I understand that you meant that because it's in the EX format, it's considered as a "limited" but it's not. There are no maximum EX raids that you can obtain, it's limitless.
Eventually? Yes. But I think that Mewtwo is going to be with us for a long time yet. Every time I get an EX invite there are people who got their first. So, we are not ready for Mewtwo leave yet.
Plus we still have shiny Mewtwo. And after that special move Mewtwo, which will make trash your current and your shiny. Long live the king!
