Any great moves that might go legacy with intro of Gen 4?

With Gen 4 perhaps around the corner, we should stop to consider the possibility that Niantic might rebalance moves and make some legacy just as they did in the past (with Gen 2 intro I recall). As most of us have lots of TMs to change moves are there any killer "best moves" that we would regret losing? I never got had a Shadow Claw Gengar or Omastar with its great rock move (forget the name) even though I had many Gastly and Omanyte in hand because I was unaware how good the moves were and never imagined Niantic would rebalance and eliminate moves. Any thoughts?? Could moves like Future Sight or Waterfall get axed?

If only I had the move Future Sight, I could answer your question.

Anything could go legacy at any moment. Make sure you have the best movesets for all relevant pokemon, can't really do more than that.

I don't think so. Niantic has changed the mechanics of moves rebalance with the introduction of special moves during events. I think that's the path they are going to follow.

They may remove useless moves to improve a pokemon, but powerful moves will probably stay.

Waterfall Gyarados agrees but Shadow Claw Gengar does not.

Yes, but SC Gengar was PoGo's infancy while Waterfall is more recent. Both examples are before new moves being added through special events, though.

I am quite confident that they will bring back SC Gengar in a special event, in the same way they brought back Body Slam snorlax

The best answer anyone can give is maybe. It's hard to guess what new moves could bring to the table since literally anything could come in. Even with that no one knows how they'd be implemented. It's anyone's guess why Shadow Claw Gengar went legacy, but Rock Throw Omastar went legacy because Omastar doesn't learn Rock Throw in the main series. Niantic has been better about making sure the moves Pokemon in Go match the moves they can learn in the main series.

I have a hard time seeing Waterfall go away considering it was just introduced. Of the current water type fast moves it's the only one Kyogre can learn in the main series, likely the main reason it was added to begin with.

I don't think the fear is the move leaving the game, just a specific Pokémon (like Gyarados not being able to learn waterfall anymore). Shadow Claw is still in the game, Gengar just can't learn it anymore.

It is a little terrifying, isn't it? Can Machamp forget counter or dynamic punch? Should I TM them now so they have them? Will Exeggutor forget Solar Beam? Can Golem lose Rock Throw? Will Salamence lose Dragon Tail or Draco Meteor? I don't know!

You should TM Machamp to DP now if you intend to use it, anyway. Full team of 6 machamp or 4+2 machamp and hariyama if you prefer.

For the others, it wouldn't be so terrible. They are no longer the best at their job.
