Collecting coins at a gym

Niantic is in the business of making money. If they won't put a limit on free coins, no one will pay for them. I agree that the system could be designed better, especially the need to get your Mon knocked out to get payed.

Everyone agrees with you! Sadly the system is what it is. For me a big issue is that the 24 hour cycle is based on the actual time clock (ie midnight your time) rather than the 24 hours since the Mons joined the gym. You can go an entire day with Mons at multiple gyms and earn no coins that day, only to have them all knocked out at night and get only 50 coins for the NEXT day. This happens in Bangkok all the time as apparently some Trainers battle gyms all night when golden raz throwers are asleep... wish I had nothing else to do!! LOL. If Niantic used a 24 hour cycle based on when you enterred the gym it would work better. There would still be no incentive to keep Mons in the gyms for multiple day (or past the 8 hour 20 minute mark at which point 50 coins are earned).
