Optimizing my phone for the game

Hi all.
Seeing that Santa hasn't brought me a new phone to play the game with, I wanted to ask if there was a way to optimize my phone for when I'm just playing the game, I mean, stopping every other app using my RAM memory while I play the game.

Sometimes my trainer gets stuck and stops moving, and therefore I have to restart the app. It happens every time I click on a gym, and randomly while I play, and I suspect it is because of RAM use. My phone is a LG Optimus L70 with just 1GB RAM, using Kit Kat 4.4.2 (afraid game doesn't work with an updated version). I'm not really into phones or Android itself. No root ofc.

Thanks!

Try "gps status test and fix" or similar apps to fix gps signal.
I dunno about saving ram...clean master?

Pokemon go states it requires 2gb of ram to run. You might be able to google a workaround for Pokemon go ram issue but it's unlikely.

It's too bad there isn't a lite version.

There's a lot of great deals right now for the holidays on mid/high end phones.

I know your pain my friend. Im using a htc mini 2 and it has 1gb of ram too. Gyms are often laggy and ive to reboot the game everytime i battle one or risk lagging out mid battle. The game also lags out when moving around in general so ive to often reboot then too. I've done all the optimising tips i could find and disable all non essential apps while playing. I am not quite willing to risk rooting my phone. I'll probably upgrade in the new year.

The phone does everything i want except provide enough ram for pokemon go.

This :(

Just for the sake of trying. How did you disable the non essential apps?

I had a similar problem with my trainer getting stuck in some spot. In my case, disabling wifi on my phone helped.

Thanks, already tried that, but it certainly seems to be about the RAM

Get rid of all widgets you dont need. Clear cache of all apps not just pogo. Reduce animation to none at all. Before playing close all recent apps opned and your phone will perform fine while playing pogo . I had your very same problem did that and im enjoying the game again except for the crappy christmas event.
