Junk mon event

You know what I’d want? A day where we can power up junk like Sandslash, Arbok, Nido royalty, Venomoth, Golduck, Rapidash, Dodrio, Hypno, Electrode, Marowak, Weezing, Seaking, Noctowl, Ariados, Azumarill, Jumpluff, Sunflora.... for half the normal stardust cost.

I would like to take some 98% or 100% of these junkers up to level 35 or 37 just to get some use out of them. But I’m not about to throw away 50,000 dust in the silly effort.

Anyone else wondering why the dust cost to level up a Groudon is the same as a Sandslash?

Very good suggestion!
I am all for giving some love to stat-challenged and less fortunate Pokemons.

Trust me the main disagreement between Niantic and their gamers was the uniform stardust cost for power ups. Instead the Stardust cost should be based on CP range. For example powering up a Sandlash at CP 1300 and Ttar at CP 1300 should cost the same like 800 Stardust but a Ttar at CP 3300 should cost the 8000 stardust and of course since Sandslash doesn't get to that CP it would never need to spend that Stardust.

but what if I abuse that by maxing out a Larvitar and then evolve him?

True, be a lot of super cheap gyarados. They could use what the cp of the fully evolved form would be.

Awesome idea, although as others have said, it should have been like this from the start. So I think I'd rather they just reduced the stardust cost permanently for a large chunk of the Pokémon.

Could it work that powering up only costs the current amounts for Pokémon that can go over 3000cp? Pokemon that can go to 1000-2000 should have a lower cost and powering up ones that don't go over 1000cp could be barely any cost.

Then would it cost less to max out an unevolved mon vs. It's final evolution?

That's essentially how it works in Gen I at the cost of lower overall stats (less stat gain per level up). I can't see it working here without a revised cost to evolve.

Very easy for it to be implemented that it applies to final fully evolved state currently available in the game.

Yeah, I would think so. Of course this helps some a lot (like Cradily or Steelix) with low CP more than bad move victims like Armaldo. But better than nothing.
