Should I evolve bagon?
Hi, this community day I obtained a 100% bagon from an egg, my question is if I should evolve it or wait for a future bagon community day, maybe for a better moveset ( if exists in the game something better than DT/DM for salamance)
- I already have a 100 % dragonite with DT/O, and a 98% latios with DB/DC.
Ah and also I was very lucky to hatch a 100% Torchik, but i will save it for a future blast burn blaziken. Great day in general =)

Standard answer on this board is to (at the very least) wait til you have 66 candies. I'm also getting the hint a level 30 one bar dragon isn't a game changer for you--wait til you get 150 candies.
I have a 15a/14/14 maxed, against Rayquaza and Latis I just treated it like my 4th maxed Dragonite. Don't think I've used it any other time.
All the previous posters are correct, of course, for maximum strength you should hold back the evolution. I still disagree: Right now Salamence is still kind of rare. Putting it into gyms and raids now is still something special. The longer you wait, the less exciting Salamence will become. On Bagon Day it will become common as dirt. Go for it now, while it is still fun!
I would have just said evolve it. So many people put so much prestige behind a 100% IV mon. It's only 2% higher than a 98. Only 4% higher than a 96. ...Practically speaking, this is near indistinguishable. And from a breakpoint standard there is almost no difference at all.
100% IV mons are vanity trophies. You're friend's 94% Salamence is going work just as well. Even if you power then both up to 100% (breakpoints).
So for me, evolve the thing. It's not the "One Ring", it's a pokemon with perfect IVs. There's loads of them out there. Especially if you've played long enough to get to level 40.
Or save it for a few months. That way when a new generation or new move comes out you can evolve it.
At the end of the day the game is all about fun. And if its fun for you to hold on to a bagon for some undefined amount of time to get some rare community day move then go for it. Bagon's 3rd evolution is useless for the most part anyway. Too bad because it looks so cool.
Like others have said you're not in a position where you're hurting for dragon types. I'd save it for now, maybe evolve it to a Shelgon and incrementally power it up but save the final evolution in case a community day rolls around. That's what my plan is for a 100% Beldum I caught and no one can convince me otherwise.
I'm never quite sure if these are just bragging posts or seriously asking whether to evolve a 100% Pokémon. I mean, future CD or not, just evolve the friggin thing, it's not like you're gonna get a better one is it? As for moveset, I find it quite refreshing it DOESN'T have outrage like most of my other top drags.
In cases where moves make the Pokemon then yes, evolving a 100% outside a community day could gimp you from getting something better. I'm saving a 100% Beldum since odds are if it gets a community day the given move will be better than what Metagross learns now (fingers crossed for Meteor Mash to be added).
I do agree with Salamence having Draco Meteor instead of Outrage, even if it's less reliable it's some much needed variety among the top dragon types. Plus it looks boss as hell in battle.
Dont evolve it, its only dragom move is a painfully bad draco meteor, its strong, but is a 1 bar, if it even gets outrage or arceus forbid Dragon claw, it would completely eclipse draco meteor salamence and make it competitive with Dragonite and Rayquaza, and considering the Gen IV dragons, and gen V dragons are some of the strongest, you'll need every dragon you can get as strong as possible/
and even if bagon's event move's not good, you can always TM it off, i'd rather get a bad event move and TM it off than evolve before hand and get screwed out of an amazing event move,
you may be waiting awhile, if you're waiting for Community days.
if the Community Days thread i saw is correct, and everything up until now has been.... Bagon community day will be Feb 2019 and Torchik community day will by May 2019.
if it was me, i'd probably just hold onto the Bagon. there's not a real need to have a salamence right now. your dragonite and latios can fill your dragon needs probably better anyway.
