Aren't these gyms a little annoying?

I have 2 level 40 Machamps, as I'm sure most people do (or maxed to your level.) I want so bad to use my Lugia or Latios, or other pokemon for gyms, but why? Why can't people even try to put something in that isn't weak to fighting? This is every gym around here. I'll be lucky if they put a Dragonite in the last spot.

Lack of foresight.

"BULKY MON GOOD DEFENDER, PUT BULKY MON IN GYM".

I used to always use a Gardevoir as my main defender (until I managed to get DG on her, at which time she joined my Machamp solo corps) just to deter Machamp spammers. Heck, at one point I managed to hold onto one of three EX-elligible gyms in my town for like a week just because the members on my team were genuinely smart on what they put in: IIRC we had Blissey, Gardevoir, Snorlax, Dragonite, Donphan, and Tyranitar No one species could sweep the gym, and with just a bit lf gold-raz play, I'm fairly sure that we all scored gold for the gym.

If you are bored of using Machamp against the Normal-type tanks, try Dragonite, Tyranitar, Raikou or Fire-types (I personally love Gyarados, so I use it).

I use Machamps with no dust investment—9 of them caught and evolved 2594 to 2521 (all have DP)...that is until about 30 min ago I finally took a 15a/15/14 I’ve had for 6 months to level 35.

Now I’ll make a generalist gym party—maxed Mewtwo, Dragonite, Raikou, FP Venus, that 98 Machamp, guess a Groudon as a paperweight. I used to just use my Regice fighter team and switch one or two for a gym battle..

Pokédex says I’ve encountered 73 Tyranitars and today was my first dust towards any Machamp in a year. It is worth investing in bc frequently used, but maxing 3, 4, or 5 not exactly necessary. Then again I have 6 dragons above 3500, that not necessary either

Gyms in general are annoying.

I took a gym at a restaurant last night. Someone started attacking while we were eating. We defended for the extra items and boredom. When we left, I saw them outside in their car. They weren't eating. They just sat there, parked, for over 40 minutes.

Why attack a gym that someone wants? You're only going to be there for a few minutes anyway.

Anyway, I hope they felt satisfied when we left. Can anyone explain to me why you would put that much time into a gym that is going to flip in 30 minutes max? They will be in there for less time than they spent taking it?

Some just like it, some wanna get a gold badge gym for more items, some using it as a scaner for raidiing, so he know there is a raid when his/her pokemons in that gym

I do that sometimes, in a gym that i can comfortably play, and all everyday work s done
Especially if i already have Silver Badges and almost gold. In that case the berry feeders is always welcome..

If a gym where I am seeking a gold badge has all defenders weak to Machamp, I would gladly attack it for an hour or two!

Prolonged assaults (as in on gyms, not physical ones) are common in highly competitive areas (and in fact necessary when GRB feeding is prevalent).

I attacked a gym for 3 and a half hours one time starting at 11pm. What's worse. Me sitting there for 300 battles or some loser guy using multiple accounts to berry me for that long. We both have the gym gold too.

To be honest, I did that at a park while my kids were playing. I have 150 revives and 450 max/hyper options, and nothing better to do. Golden razzberry them to the max. It's not like I can blow my items doing solo raids.

We need more gyms like this. I put Raichu in, my wife put Snorlax in.
