Incense or Lures?

I've got about 30 of them eating up bag space, and im wondering if I should just toss them or just one of them?

I know that coming up theres likely to be a bagon event following Squirtle, but I dont know whats more useful, the incense or the lures when it comes to attracting pokemon. I tent to focus on moving around more than staying still when out hunting

Incenses have been much better for me on community days.

I personally have no use for incense and very little use for lures. However, while I will toss incense I can't seem to bring myself to throw away the lures. I just don't find myself in too many situations where I am sitting at a pokestop for long periods of time.If you need space they are totally expendable.

I feel like there is no reason to not just use them. With the XP bump on catching, why not use incense now?

It depends on your playing style. I only use lures on CD or in events with extended lure time, since I have a stop at my house, otherwise I would trash them. Incense are more useful to me, I use them on CD, when on the bus, or when I'm traveling and don't have a data plan, just using the hotel Wi-Fi trying to attract regionals and Mons who are rare in my home biome.

Agree with others, save afew incense for CD's & if u don't use lures, why not lure up busy areas for the benefit of others rather than toss them, seems a waste to me.

What's the reasoning behind August CD being Bagon? The current pattern points at Ralts.

Regardless, no reason to trash items that you could just use. If you want to get rid of them, look for excuses to pop one like walking for 15 minutes or sitting next to a pokestop for 10 minutes. It's still better value than throwing them out.

Because the pattern is 2 community days per generation, the hopes people have for gardevoir as a CD would have been a double fairy set, which is soemthign it cannot get in the main series (something pokemon GO has adhered to when it comes to removing legacy moves) if the pattern of only 2 CDs continue, that leaves only bagon and beldum

You've answered your own question - Incense is better for you. If you're moving around, you'll get more Pokémon with Incense. It's similar for me - when I do get a chance to play for 30+ minutes at a time, it's rarely in an area next to a Pokestop so Lures are useless to me. But Incense is great.

But it also will depend on your local group during Community Day. In my city (Ottawa) the local group organizes huge Community Day gatherings in at least 3 places across the city, and the organizers lure every Pokestop in the area (which is more than 40 in some places), so I don't need to use any Lures at all. But if I was in an area that didn't have that, I would be using Lures on Community Day. Maybe ONLY on Community Day, but when they last 3 hours, that makes them well worth the small investment.

I don't use incense at all. When I get them, I just pop them when I'm sitting at home watching TV. Obviously that is the worst way to use them, but it's like 5 free pokemon...

Using items >>>> tossing them. You get a benefit using incense and the item is gone either way...

Yes, that. Use some incense, and instead of tossing lures, just use them on popular stops. Others will thank you, and you can thank them back when they lure up stops at CD, or in general.

This is good advice in general. Too many ultra balls because of gifts? Start using them more, and if you have to throw balls away, throw red balls away, etc.

Its blowing my mind tossing away premium items- i would trash even GRB or Ultra Balls instead. Just use Incenses while walking. I value lures more, cause im sit on 2 pokestops in home and 4 in work, so i saving them, then and use when they last 3 or 6 hours.

I think incense is garbage. The mons are more jumpy and run more. There’s also the glitch where it seems to keep running but you’ve actually caught it

I try not to just throw them away but other than saving a few to help grind on community day I’ll just run them one after another while sitting at home and just catch what is interesting or when I’m full of items.

It's very good when you're a) in a scarce area and want more spawns b) having a community day and want to maximize the amount of event spawns you see. The glitch of them repeatedly running is related to quick catching, doesn't happen if you watch through the catch animation.

I agree. The only time they would be useful for me is when traveling in a car but there is something about speed that causes them to run every time. They are a total waste of space for me.
