Should I buy the Ultra Box?

The 12 super incubators look tempting as all heck, same with the starpiece and lucky eggs (incense not to much) but as theres another event coming up soon (the GO fest thing), would it be more wise to save the coins for that and its event boxes, as its focus seems to be more towards candy than XP

Seems like a pretty good deal just for the super incubators alone.

Thats what I was thinking, but as the next one seems to have something about Raids in its rewards (as theres hatch and catch in rare candy I assume that means boosted raid boss candy or rarecandy yields from raid bosses) and was thinking it may be worth it for the premium raid passes if they there, as there hatch candy, they may do soemthign with super incubators, but I dont know if it will be the same amount

I guess it just depends on how quickly you get coins and how many raids you do. I have 17 raids passes. I probably go through incubators quicker. Also, I'll pay for some coins.

Depends how much coins ya got. I had 1100 so $5 wasn't that bad but I wouldn't spend $10 or $20 on that box.

For me, personally, the box isn't worth it since it contains zero raid passes, and raids are what I do most frequently in this game.

If you don't raid frequently, are wanting super incubators at a discount, and aren't level 40 (and thus can make use of the extra lucky eggs), then the box is probably worth it.

I raid semi frequently, but thats when I didnt use the pass from the day before, I have about 16 premium's in the bank (saving for worth while legendaries/ex possible gyms), I was thinking holding off because they could have more in the future, but more raid passes means more bag space I cant use (which is already super limited by half as I have only 450 slots, I dont spend coins on those upgrades, arent as worth it)

TbH, I would make a $20 one time purchase to upgrade space. It helps so much to just be able to go to a pokestop dense place and stock up. You can also bank rare candies and TMs. I keep around 600-700 pokemon. I could keep it around 500, but with trading being a thing now, I'm glad I hung on to pokemon from trips.

Ah, and it figures, fight after I release 30 feebas, they add that thing where you get more candy from far away pokemon,

I know how much it helps, but I tend to prefer keeping my storage full because I stop getting those stupid alolan eggs when its full, just release one recently caught pokemon when I raid/catch,not efficient for catches, but is for hatching

I was the same way with bag space. Ever since they added berries I just couldn't handle throwing out so many items just to spin stops. I'm getting better now with 950 bag space and throwing berries in gyms when I get too many.

As far as the boxes go, I would have gotten the premium one if I had the coins, but I settled on the great box to hatch my alolan eggs

Only 450?? Are you an urban player with many stops around so you can always refill as you play? As a suburban player, the *permanent* increase in bag storage is a major upgrade in game play well worth prioritizing over other temporary items.

Suburban, but especially since gifting's added, I dont need the increased space because items come like crazy

Not sure why you wouldn't. As mentioned earlier, it's a killer deal on incubators alone - the rest is fluff. For me? it's the perfect box.

The last ultra box had super incubators, raid passes, and star pieces. That one was a no-brainer for me, even though I'm very stingy with my coins (I'm a free player, currently with ~3,600 gym reward coins). Without the raid passes, I can't justify spending a month's worth of gym coins for the current ultra box. I don't need to buy a bunch of super incubators just so I can accumulate Alolan Meowths faster.

Do not spend any money on the game until the maps are back up or there is a good official alternative.

There's no logic to that approach. Niantic has nothing to do with when/if the maps go back up, it's just about whether the API can be cracked. Why would you reward Niantic if the maps go up again?

With maps, the game is fun enough (despite the instability and glitches) for me to give Niantic a few dollars per month (and SGPokeMap developers another few dollars). The game without maps is too frustrating to justify paying for it, but bearable enough to enjoy for free. As far as I know, the maps went down because Niantic changed the API to break them, so Niantic can choose to provide an official raid map and better ways to hunt down specific species.

We have no proof that breaking the maps was Niantic's intention with the api change, but suppose it was. It would then make sense to stop buying coins as a retaliation, but maps going back up wouldn't be a logical reason to start buying again, because then you'd be rewarding Niantic for the (illegal) accomplishments of a third party.
