Is Defense More Important Now?

Unless I'm hallucinating, it seems like the CP formula may have changed.

I remember when a point of attack was worth two points of defense or HP.
Later, HP was worth more than defense, but still less than attack.
Now defense seems to be worth more than attack.

Am I going nuts?

The amount any individual IV stat can improve a mon is dependant on the base stats of the mon in question.

OK. So maybe the formulas haven't changed. I've just looked at different mons at different times.

The overwhelming majority of the time, a point of attack counts more than a point of either defense or HP. There are some rare exceptions, such as Sharpedo, which has a very high base attack, and a very low base defense. For Sharpedo, a point of defense counts more than a point of attack. But in general, the CP formula gives more weight to the attack stat (base + IV).
