Hoenn Community days

I've been doing some thinking on this, and it doesnt seem likely that gardevoir flygon or slaking will be the subjects of them. namely the fact the only remaining fairy move, fairy wind cant be learnt by gardevoir, the good dragon moves one would want on flygon are already there (unless they add dragon rush and make it super over tuned), and an event for slaking would more or less remove the intentional nerf they made to it.

it seems far more likely that the only 2 pokemon to get community days will be Bagon and Beldum.

I don't know tons about anything after gen 1, but is there a reason not to give Flygon a ground move or Gardevoir a non-fairy move?

Because the only remaining fairy type attack isnt learnable by gardevoir, and im pretty sure all of the ground and dragon moves you'd want flygon to have it can already get or cant learn in the main games.

yeah, the only other move flygon could get would be dig added to its moveset or adding in Earth power, or dragon rush to the game, that doesnt seem likely those seem to se soemthign that will be added in gen IV

They can always turn one of the fairy existing moves to a fast move. Take draining kiss for example, it is only learnt by jynx and luvdisc. Luvdisc is irrelevant and no one keep draining kiss on jynx, so they can make the charge DK legacy and give gardevoir a fast DK.

Have they changed moves from charge to fast in the past, or vise versa?

Could happen, I hope it does as theres only going to be 2 viable fairies in gen IV, gardevoir and togekiss, with one only being a part time fairy type.

No, it's more of a wishful thinking than anything. They have changed move stats, for example Body slam used to be 2 bars and they changed it to 3, and psychic used to be 2 bars and changed to 1.

Ah, that does seem like wishful thinking, either way, after this next dragonite candy, im switching to Ralts, the August event's announcement will be the deciding factor, if its bagon, than no gardevoir slaking or flygon event, if its one of those three, theres hope yet.

I’m sure they will give Slaking something to make it worth going to CD for.. if it’s a fast move, no matter what it is, that will make Slaking a beast. Or if they give it a three bar move such as body slam. 290 attack plus STAB is no joke.

And the moves don’t have to be on the fully evolved forms. Look at Pikachu.

More or less the point of community days are to have the final evolution, Pikachu's an exception given its the series' mascot,

There may be an example for one of the hoenn pokemon getting a CD, but if the patern is to be kept, there would need to be 2 of them, and that doesnt seem likely to happen

I'd like to think that Pikachu CD was more of a novelty because Pikachu and a test run, and shouldn't factor in to our expectations of future Community Days. You could TM surf onto Pikachu, which hasn't been the case since with the CD exclusive moves. Giving special moves to base forms and not their final evolution just doesn't have a whole lot of appeal, and I hope Niantic realizes that.

That said, I will be very curious to see what we end up getting as our CD Mon for August. If anything, Niantic has shown that they can and will deviate from patterns (legacy Snorlax as the July research breakthrough instead of a legendary; Tyranitar getting a new quick move instead of a new charged move for CD). So I guess we'll just have to wait and see what they've got in store for us!
