Pokemon Go Plus Experience

I've bought my Pokemon Go Plus, it arrives on December 31st. Could you comment your experience with this device? What works well, what doesn't, problems, bugs, etc. I want to low my expectations on this.

I have the device for 2 weeks now and loving it!
Ok sometimes its just buggy and disconnects, its also draining your normal poke balls very fast.
The rewards you see when afterwards looking at the journal is a surprise, have most pidgey's and rattata but also abra's more the once's and bigger mons like magmar at 1200 cp or 700 cp evee's.

The best use for it, is a battery saver for your phone, your eggs come out all day, and easy pokestop grinding when you switching out the nearby pokemon setting. its a lot saver for sure not holding your phone in your hands all the time.

  • battery saver
  • egg's breeder
  • faster and saver pokestop grinder
  • when moving on a bike for example you get more change to capture something because its a lot faster in detecting surrounding mons that you don't see on your screen only a few seconds later and normally pas by.
  • disconnects maybe 1 time an hour
  • don't know for sure but i have switched out the device battery 3 times in 2 weeks time already. (maybe bad batch of 2030's)

+/- uses 100 poke balls a day 35% capture rate?
+/- when you have both nearby pokemon and nearby pokestop on, then when moving by a pokestop it first try to capture all the mons around the stop, then when everything is cleared its trying to get the stop and this could be to far away, even when normal walking. this should be reversed in my opinion - first get the stop then the mons -

Thank you for tour feedback! I think I'm getting more excited with your comments. Could you explain more about the battery? I thought you were supose to connect the device to something in order to charge it...

I've been using the Plus for couple of months and can agree with everything stated above. The main advantages are battery saving (screen can stay off and it counts the distance accurately), not having to pull out the phone all the time, more effective pokestop collections. I assume the device may be a bit less useful for lower level players since you want to see what pokemon pop up so that you can prioritize since you don't have a chance to know what you are catching and you can only use regular balls so no ultra balls or berries. However, at higher levels it actually helps save on the balls since you get 50% catch chance with the Plus whereas using the screen you will still be using more balls even though your catch percentage may be higher. I'm actually discarding the blue balls to save space for more revives and potions.

The device is particularly useful if you're using it on a slower transportation vehicle, e.g. tram if there are many pokestops along the way you can spin the stops on the screen while still pressing the button to catch the pokes which is something you cannot do with just the screen. Also very useful on a bike travelling along the pokestops, you just need to go slowly though. Also very useful in colder weather to keep your hands warm :)

Regarding your question about charging - no, the device is not chargeable, you need to use disposable batteries, they last quite a bit so no worries there.
