I must admit that I am somewhat confused about how the friend status is working. I have two friends who I have been exchanging gifts with every day and it shows no progress beyond good friends level. I have quite a few people who I have exchanged gifts for the last two days and for two of them it shows a days progress towards great friends but for the rest of them no progress. I have not done any raids with any of these people.
I have the same issue. I have heard that it is a known glitch, but nothing beyond that. And I'm hoping that our progress is being counted, even if the bat doesn't show.
The weirdest thing is: my daughter's account shows that we are at 1.5 stars (we have done something together every day, so far). But on my account, she is just 1 star. Hers says we need 3 more days to hit 2 star but mine says 6 more days.
