Do we really need that many trainers to defeat a Lv70 Mewtwo?

As shown in the trailer long long ago, thousands of people gather in Time Square in order to defeat Mewtwo in 10 minutes.
Also, as shown in the video (screen capture below), that Mewtwo is lv70.
But even Mewtwo is at Lv70, with probably 6000-7000cp, do we really need that many people to defeat him? I believe 4-5 3kCP Dragonites will crash Mewtwo in half a minute.
Also, a Shadow ball Mewtwo is not great on defense. Shadow ball is quite easy to dodge.

This is just a trailer and I think it won't happen in the game. We will probably have an event for legendaries but I don't think thousands of people will be needed.

And Mewtwo max CP is 4760 according to this site, also the max level a mon can reach is level 40 (actually 39 cos there is a bug on the game that Niantic has still not fixed preventing mons to go over level 39)

IIRC, in Pokemon Red and Blue you encounter Mewtwo at Lv70. So I think Mewtwo being labeled Lv70 in the PokemonGo trailer is more of an easter egg than any sort of indicator that Niantic have any idea how they are going to actually implement legendary events.

"crashing" is an over statement, I think you will need more than 5 people with 3k CP dragonites.
Mewtwo has 80% more attack stat than dragonite, better defence and way better HP, wihtout type advantage, it will be a hard task

Tyranitar and Umbreon will have type advantage. I don't think Umbreon would be up to the ask but Tyranitar sure will.
