When 3 or more random people are taking down a gym...fastest one to claim it. So being unorganized/slow phone can hurt, too

Just dont leave the fight when you kill a pokemon. Keep fighting.

Exactly. A Snorlax, Steelix or Milotic fed golden berries is harder to take down than a Blissey that is not fed at all.
