Same old Raid Bosses, or Event?
They've ben very Event Happy lately, the fighting event, adventure week, then water festival all in little more than a month, does it seems likely that theres going to be another one right after this one? Possible Groudon return/ground event with new raid bosses or a break from events and the normal raid bosses.
Either way im just hoping Piloswine's in there somewhere

Like many, I suspect we'll have Groudon next. But I don't think it will be part of a ground event. My suspicion is that Groudon will launch, and then a few days later we'll get another Alolan pokemon (Golem, perhaps) to tide us over until the next set of events.
We've gone from events being a once in a rare while thing to having events overlap and change and surround each other. It's like Niantic thinks we will only stick around if they keep putting shiny things in front of us.
I am not sure we will see further Aloans in the wild; Aloa-Eggie might have been just to wet our appetites. From the announcement of pokemongolive: "Gifts can also include a special surprise: an Egg that, when hatched, will contain an Alolan form of a Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region!" It would make sense from a game development point of view to make Aloans available only to those players that use the new friendship system.
You should rather work on your Machamps for Dialga as they will have the best DPS and are the best gym attackers right now. Golem is not worth mentioning as a ground type either way and Groudon requires rare candy, but keeping your eyes open for weatherboosted Rhyhorns is certainly a good idea.
Ground types are far outclassed by dragons as Tao trio counters unless they get major DPS upgrades with a moveset shakeup. Garchomp against electric moves Zekrom, Palkia against fire moves Reshiram and Dialga against either one with dragon moves. Dialga is likely also going to be one of the best counters to Kyurem.
