Groudon raid counter guide

It’s missing far too many pokemon. Not a single grass type mentioned.

These should be included on the list:
Venusaur, Exeggutor (both forms), Sceptile. Dragonite. Groudon itself with Solar Beam.
And Raikou. /s

Like Kyogre, I'd imagine it will be updated once the raid boss is announced.

Just like Kyogre, it would have been silly to update a week before the announcement, when in that time between Alolan Eggy got released and became a top-tier counter (at least with weather boost against non-Blizzard set).

Thing is venusaur, eggy and sceptile were relevant the first time he was around.

Ah, I wasn't around the first time he was around - seems a fair criticism to have made last time, but my point does sort of still stand that it seems reasonable to expect it will be updated once there's an announcement that Groudon is coming back.

Why would anyone use Raikou against Groudon, which is doubly resistant to Electric attacks?

Counters for Groudon largely depend on its charged moves.

Fire Blast: Kyogre, Gyarados, Vaporeon and Dragonite. Solar Groudon takes neutral damage. Avoid using Grass-types or Articuno.

Solar Beam: Dragonite, Articuno, Sceptile, Venusaur and Exeggutor. Gyarados takes neutral damage. Avoid using Kyogre, Vaporeon or Solar Groudon.

Earthquake: Gyarados, Articuno, Dragonite, Sceptile, Venusaur and Exeggutor. Kyogre and Solar Groudon take neutral damage.

The Raikou part was a joke.
/s means sarcasm.

But I didn't vote your comment either way because your counters by charge move are correct.

These things really only get updated once the raid boss comes back into rotation. Check out the solo guide for Arcanine and you'll notice a distinct lack of Kyogre and Groudon.

But Hydropump Salamence is in Groudon raid counters list, and I don't think Salamence existed in PoGo at the time Groudon left raids.

Guidelines are guidelines.

If you want to play pogo perfect you should run every Pokémon you have with each IV on pokebattler.

The raid counter guide is more than just the list of counters at the top. Almost all of the attackers you complained about are in the list of raid data. In terms of DPS they are all weaker than the top attackers picked for the list of counters. For TDO, the same.

I agree with the answers above. Why worry about Groudon - not a current raid boss. I'd much rather see a more comprehensive guide for Mewtwo with overview, pro's, con's, etc. It's likely to remain the most elite raid boss for some time yet.

Kyogre can trio Groudon in rain even at level 25!
Edit: 25 not 20
Maybe someone can try doing a "Groudon trio with no dust investment"

Alternatively, I’m going to use my team of maxed sharpedos.
And about 2000 max revives.
