Any profitable newer research tasks and what are you using extra pinaps on?

I'm doing nothing but this quest until I max out my 100% Lapras.

I was surprised by the catch 5 Magikarp/Wailmer quest, giving you a Luvdisc

I use pinaps for the same reasons as bananas and razz. To turn gyms gold. Sure if there is an attractive event ill stockpile a few. Larvitar was the first time I have in a long time. Could have used more but made out okay.

Starter pokemon for future Community Days are arguably worth pinaps.
For me, wooper, marill, and surskit. They are common enough outside of the water event to have mass-evolve value but 50 candies.

Aside from any obvious rarer pokemon, I'm using pinaps on low CP mudkips and totodiles in anticipation of future CDs. Feeding the excess to silver gyms, 10 minutes of gym defense and 20 stardust is a much better deal to me than the tiny amount of exp for pinapping a 25 or 50 candy evolvable.
