So I've been stuck on this screen for the past two days now... is anyone else experiencing this? Have suggestions on how to fix it?

Is it a server issue? Has niantic released any information on the matter??

that is terrible.
I don't know what exactly will fix it but at least try the following
delete the pogo app.
clear any cache you have.
make sure your phone is running the latest OS
reboot your phone.
re-load the app
