Ttar power up question

Probably the first of many. How would you spend resources.

I have 550k dust, and 311 leftover Larvitar candy.

Tyranitar available to power up:
3094 CP, level 30, 87% with 13 attack
3091 CP, level 30, 89% with 11 attack
2963 CP, level 30, 76% with 15 attack
2900 CP, level 30, 69% with 5 attack, Shiny (I think this one will sit at 30)
2478 CP, 3500 dust to power, 87% with 14 attack
2171 CP, 3000 dust to power, 87% with 15 attack
825 CP, level 8, 98% (15 attack, 15 stamina, 14 defence)

The cost to bring the level 8 to level 30 is a little over 100 candy and 100k dust.

I'm currently level 33, at 600k/1m xp to 34. It will be ages before I get to 40, but I also had a grand total of 20ish larvitar candy before this event, so I think I'll want to save candy to max one out if I ever intend to go that route (it will take nearly all 300 candy to max out the 98% though...).

Current thought is to bring the last 3 to 30, then try to max the 98% as much as I can going forward (hopefully get some hatches over time to make back up the candy I spend on the other 2).

Grind more dust while the Water Festival is still in progress.

How many TMs do you have? What moves do they currently have? You want some with Smack Down + Stone Edge and some with Bite + Crunch; other moves are pointless (except Bite + Stone Edge for trainers who missed Community Day).

Three have stone Edge and four have crunch (I tm'd 3 fire blasts away).

All 7 have smack down.

The 3 with stone Edge are the 15, 15, and 14 attack iv ones, but NOT the 98% (so the level 30 76%, and the two in the 20s with high 80%s).

I have 8 fast TMs, which is enough to guarantee being able to change all 4 with crunch to have bite - although I haven't decided for certain I want to do that, I likely will when I get an ex raid invite or a psychic raid gets released though. (I have 3 high level Golem with double Rock).

if the 98 has smack down, i would max it out and leave the rest as your ttar army, have atleast a 3 bite/crunch ttars (any iv) for psychic raids

It has smack down (they all do), but also Crunch. Was planning to eventually fast TM to bite.

The 3 with stone Edge are the 76% 15a, and the two in the 20s level. The other 4 have crunch.

Movesets? At your level I would leave all of those Tyranitar at their lvl except for the 98%. He is worth some dust, the rest not so much.

I would keep at least 4 with SD, maybe even all,
This is a legacy move and it will not be possible to get them again (as far as we know now), while you can get good darktars from evolving larvitar and doing tyranitar raids.

Push at least 6 up to lvl 30, and eventually take the 98IV up to 40 (or whatever highest breakpoint you like if you are into that).

One of the hardest things for a lower level trainer is to work with what they have and not TM something that is good in the long run away for something that will work now but will set you back in the grand scheme of things.

Yes, in the 4th generation there will (potentially) better stone attackers (and dark attackers) but both the stonetars and the darktars will not loose their value.

Spent about 1400 candy and 750k dust evolving 10 and maxing 3

The answer to this is the same as for all the other questions like this.

Given that the event is over, take the best ones you have and power them up as needed. Need 1 for Gym Sweeping - power it up. Need 3 to take out Ho-Oh (now gone) - power them up. Best is of course relative. If you're chronically short of dust, prioritize level over IVs; if you have plenty of dust and candy, power up the one with the best IVs, regardless of level. If you have excess TMs, change the best one to what you want; if you're low on TMs, take what you have and power up the best, etc.

What's your status with B/C Ttars from before the event? If you're lacking in that area, do some raids and spend some of your candy on that. I wouldn't TM the SD away on a SD/C one, instead build up a new Ttar from a Larvitar or a raid capture.
