Golem- Rock Blast Niche?

Seeing how Rock Ttar complete eclipses Golem (except perhaps in cases where the ground typing actually helps like with Zapdos) with the stone edge moveset,

Can Golem Carry some sort of niche with rock blast for 'smoother DPS', or am I completely wrong about this?

I have a golem army and I'm thinking which ones to transfer to make way for the Ttars

I mean unless you've got 6 double rock ttars all powered up, your golems would still be very useful in any raids if the birds are ever brought back.

The "smoother DPS" could be true against low motivation gyms. But to be honest Ive never seen a Golem in any Gym attacking Team.
I think he is done - like poor Gyarados

Yes I wrote it wrong. I meant that they are outclassed in every way. But of course Gyarados/Golem are better than nothing and make a solid No. 2.

Anyway, the TO wouldnt have asked that way if he hadnt at least 6 double Rock Ttars.

Gyarados still has value - Gary double resists ground because of his flying typing, unlike Kyogre who only singly resists it. Of course, this also means Gary is doubly weak to electric. So, fight with Kyogre, tank with Gyarados.

I'm hoping Rock Blast, along with X-Scissor and a few other 3-bar moves gets a buff at some point. My 3 best Golems all have Rock Blast and I just don't have the TM's to shoot for Stone Edge, which isn't that great to begin with

You're right but that just highlights how bad bug types are in this game. It would be nice to use them for something other than T2 Exeggutor raids or 2nd string Mewtwo counters

I would not transfer any golems. Tyranitar has a couple of weakness like double weak to fighting moves, does not resist electric moves (golem quad res. Electric) etc.

Golem is probably not useful in the coming meta but not guaranteed; Keep a few atleast imo
