Where to Find Dragons

Its windy out where I am right now, and a dratini just popped up at a church not too far from me, but ive been playing for weeks and haven't seen one anywhere (this goes for all dragon types) and am wondering where they appear most frequently, all pokemon are like that, but I cant find anything about where dragons appear more.

Dragons are amongst the rarest spawns in the game, so they tend to be the hardest to encounter in the wild. That said, Dratini tend to spawn more frequently in water biomes, and (unless this has changed) Dragonite will occasionally spawn in a Mt. Moon biome where Clefairy tend to spawn regularly.

And anything about the other dragon types? a friend said he found a dragonite at E3, maybe notable places or something, im not specifically looking for dratini but also bagon

I really haven't found any reliable ways to hunt down Bagons, aside from going out when it's windy weather and crossing your fingers that you come across one.

They are not exclusive to windy weather; but I can't tell you how to reliably find them.

In my experience, Dratini reliably spawn over and over again at the same spawn points on a river near my house (and have for months), with a change from 2 or 3 a day to maybe 4 or 5 with wind, if no event.

With event, I'm seeing 0-1 a day, but frequently enough to know the spawn point is still there for Dratini. There's dozens of spawn points up and down the river (about 3 km), but only approximately 5 reliably spawn dragons on a 'schedule.' Only two or three are associated with stops (one point is on either choice of a double stop depending on how full they are and another is near, but not on the stop when you look at nearby)..

My advice is to check the stops where you do see dragons the next time it's windy, or spend some time going down any local river, stream, brook, or creek that's safe to do so. If you see a dragon on your travels, it's quite possible (but no means assured) that it will spawn a dragon there again.

If you are looking to boost your dragon medal, I would hunt down trapinich which are ground and they evolve into a dragon type. Only costs 25 candy for that.

I have never seen a trapinch in the wild but I had a very annoying stretch where almost all of my 10k eggs hatched into them.

I just checked my pokedex which shows I have seen and caught 17 of them - which would all be 10k egg hatches.

Events dilute other spawns so this is a factor as well

They are intentionally hard to find and don't nest, as otherwise everyone would be running with their maxed 100 salamence and they lose all their value.

My bro, all the Pokemon have lost their value ever since raids got introduced. Let's not pretend any Pokemon can be regarded special after they spoiled us with their money making garbage system. Even more, most of the players in my community already have their 100% IV Salamance from the time scanners were still a thing. And here am I, playing legit with 0 of that specie.
