Do people not care about the raid boss?

Whenever there are more than one Tier 5 raid boss, people will stop posting into Discord what Mon it is. They schedule a raid, do the raid and never post what raid boss it really is.

There is always a raid boss of the two that I prefer and I can't see all 180 gyms in town so I have to rely on people posting the raid boss. As a consequence, it is kinda hard to do the preferred boss raid.

However, most people just go to a level 5 raid, many times do not split into teams and tap away at the screen without even looking.
Then they will continue doing a raid tour of 4-10 raids a day.

Why would you do about 90 to who knows how many raids a month without even caring about what the boss is? Rare Candy is nice, but apart from that what's the fun in all that?

Ho-Oh and the Latis are underwhelming, but many continue to do legendary raids, mainly for the RC and TMs. If one does 90 legendary raids a month, chances are they will catch at least a few of both legendaries.

That's true, I just prefer Latios personally. At least Latios' moves are good (even though not top DPS), Ho-oh's on the other hand are real garbage. It's stats certainly are better.

In a ten min span yesterday I caught a boosted 15/14/15 and a boosted 14/14/15 Ho-Oh. I didn’t care to do either of them but got caught up in a big group and needed to use two daily passes. Barely care that I caught them

Yes, Latios and Latias are more or less useless since we already have 3 Dragons that are stronger. However, I think you are wrong about Ho-oh. It has excellent stats and performance. Moveset is not ideal (that can change), but it's still a bulky beast especially boosted by either sunny or windy weather. It will be one of best counters against Regice with Steel Wing and Fire Blast in the summer and it's an excellent gym sweeper as well. It's a top 5 legendary for me at the moment and other than that especially the shiny variant looks great.

Ho-Oh is #13 against Regice in clear weather, sorted by time to win with level 40 counters. Not that good. You should go for BB Charizards and Flareons over Ho-Oh when it's clear, and obviously Moltres and Entei if you have them powered up.

Ho-Oh is a fine anchor though, #1 TDO in clear.

People need their rare candy and TM fix. I have just under 200 rare candy and I still want more. In my area though people are more inclined to do Ho-Oh raids because shiny chance.

I'm more interested in the rewards, so I'll happily do any Tier 3, 4 or 5 if I can scrape up enough people to join me

If you are in N. America then your options are Ho-oh: a retread that you've probably already raided and maybe even powered up already (motivation: shiny or more candy to power up your current Ho-oh) or Latias: a worse version of the legendary you just raided for an entire month (motivation: maybe? candy? so you don't have to use RC to get to lv30?)

Okay, so what I understand from your answers is that people do not care about neither Latios nor Ho-Oh, but since I want to do more Latios raids theirs and my goal don't match.

If they do not post what the raid boss is, but this matters to you, why not just ask them? Eventually they will catch on.

In our group they say what it is... but if it's Latios people seem less likely to want to join the raid... I have yet to have caught my 1st Latios, lost 3 in a row.

Mainly for candy and a chance to get charge TM

I am lucky in this Latios and HoOh raid as i have a IV 98 Latios and 98 shiny Ho Oh in the beginning.
After that, i still go to gym raid with my group, but only join the raid when some trainer wanna try shortmaning it (3-5 trainer depending on the moveset)
Or if we split by color and one team short on trainers (usually Instict), i offer to join them eventhough i am a valor..
Latios or HoOh doesnt really mater for me, as i am looking for fun in shortmaning the T5 raids
I dont do speed raid when we just raid as much as possible in one day anymore, kind of boring for me after some time
Better just do a few legendary raid at weekend but the raid battle is enjoyable ( i only can go to our group raid area and raid together at weekend, at weekdays i play 1-2 raid solo)

I don't care if it's Latias or Ho-oh, as long as I can get a handful of players to join I can carry the whole team, get my barrage of items and maybe a free legendary. Tiers 1 to 4 are a waste of passes IMO.

Depends on what your end game is, if it’s acquiring stuff then you are right. However, Lower level raid can be more fun and challenging depending on how you approach them. They allow greater flexibility since they do not require large groups for success.

Yes, described players dont care. They dont even need the rare candy or TMs anymore. They are addicts.
I did 650 Raids myself (2/day). Which is much but nothing compared to the hardcores.
And it's enough. I dont even know what to do with the rare candies anymore. In total I could max 18 Legendaries (no dust), TMed every pokémon down to 2k CP and still threw away 100+ fast TMs.
I will continue to do the free raidpass of course but probably mostly with a T3 boss, to not be dependant on others.

For now Ho-oh vs Latios, I prefer Ho-oh cuz shiny. But Latios is also good so I would do both. But if I was in a Latias country there is no way I would waste a raidpass for it.
