Geodude CD seems really unlikely as he’s a pretty common Pokémon for many, on top of not being the best option for almost anything but a pure rock type attacker at the moment. Even with a new move it wouldn’t be much higher, unless we got a rock frenzy plant type move it wouldn’t happen

Frenzy Plant Rock move that sounds like Rock Wrecker whose effects on the main games are the same. However, Golem does not learn that. Who learns that move in Rhyperior... could it be that someday on CD... nah don't think so

Geodude will never have a community day because it's too common but I would still hold onto it and not evolve it until we know what the rules will be regarding Alolan forms.

Tough choice.

IF there is going to be a Geodude Community Day, it's likely that it is a year away. There are 7 more Starters (not including Gen 4) that need to be cycled through, and quite a few 3 Evolution Pokémon from 10km eggs that they can go through.

On the other hand, if you haven't gotten an 82%+/Attack 15/Level 25+ Geodude (or Golem, if there are Golem raids. Are there Golem raids? I haven't seen any Level 4 raids that weren't Ttar or Absol... which is weird...) after this event, then evolve that 100% up to a Golem.

And if there's a Golem Community Day in less than a year, curse me for my bad advice.

I had the same problem with a high level 96%. I evolved him.

The problem is the community day exclusives. The best moveset for a type should not be available for 3 hours and then gone.

Now you have people who have to decide to evolve and enjoy pokemon or to wait and see if maybe they'll get something better. That is not fun. You can always get more candy and stardust, but having critical movesets that can become legacy because you have to work. That isn't good game design.

At the very least, they should allow TMs.

i have a feeling they may make community day moves available to that species after the event, either through redoing the community day or just making it a standard move after a while.

That may just be wishful thinking though, go screwed out of dragon pulse amphie because trash IV's...

Once Tyranitar gets Smack down Golem is going to be obsolete.

Plot twist: 2 months later, Golem gets an overpowered CD charge move and makes Tyranitar obsolete instead

Geodude won't star in a CD for a long time, if it ever does. Golem might get Smack Down after its introduced, although I think Armaldo, Aerodactyl and Kabutops are more likely candidates for the move. Either way, with Tyranitar heading to the top of rock-type DPS charts, the best you'll get from Golem is #2, and RT/SE fits that bill well.

Actually one thing that all the CD pms have in common is that they all have mega evolutions, while golem doesn't. So it is very unlikely to me that geodude will have a chance.
