Smack Down is an exclusive move. Is it going to be a charge move? If it does, many rock Pokémon specially the fossils are going to be destroyed. It needs to be a quick move. Please Niantic!

It's a fast move. It is already in the game master. It is identical to rock throw.

I doubt that Smack Down will remain identical to Rock Throw, if Blast Burn is any indication to go by.

Blast burn and smack down were added to the game master at the same time. Blast burn had his final stats by then.
That said, it can definitely change and it's pretty stupid to leave the only 2 rock fast moves identical.

They can change it at anytime. Remember what happened to Poliwrath deffender with "Bubble" or attacking Vaporeon with "Water Gun".

By the way, this is probably for different discussion, but I personally prefer that they make something legacy that in Niantic's opinion unbalances the game for good (SC Gengar or RT Omastar) or bad (DP Dragonite) than to nerf it (bubble/water gun) or buff it (Sky Attack).

Making moves legacy does not solve the issue of a moveset being unbalanced, it just makes it inaccessible from that point on

This website makes it identical to rock throw for simulation purposes only. I haven't heard anything about its damage in the game master, and if it is they could change it before release. It seems silly to have two distinct moves of the same type have the exact same stats.

According to the game data, Smack Down is a fast move. Not exactly sure about it's DPS or EPS but, it appears to be the special Tyranitar move for the Community day in June. That means, Tyranitar will outclass Golem completely. I even read Ho-oh it's going to be doable.

So if we evolve a bunch of Ttars on CD, we'll get Smack Down as the fast move, and a random charged move? People will need a lot of CTMs to get those Ttars to double rock, unless someone really wants to play with a Smack Down/Fire Blast or Smack Down/Crunch combination.

So start saving up CTMs now (of course, one can get the move now and CTM later when one gets the CTM, but to get usable double rock TTars, start saving now.)

This also begs the question - how about all of us that have B/SE Ttars. Those will become somewhat obsolete. So once I've powered up some double rock Ttar, I guess I'll CTM that one to B/C (he's 98% at level 40, so I'm not letting him become obsolete.)

The community day post suggested for us to "put those charge TM's away". If this move is for Ttar, it would most likely be charge.

I will post this yet again. They say "put those charge TM's away" EVERY month since the exclusive move is never (at least so far) been TMable. This month uses the identical text as every other month and is thus not confirmation that Smackdown will be the move. It probably will be Smackdown, but why people keep quoting standard copy as proof is puzzling. Am I am the only one who actually reads the emails and news posted by Niantic?
