Any one else notice decreased spawn rates this community day?

Last month I was up to my eyeballs in mareeps, but this time at the same park almost no charmanders. The first one did not appear until 22 minutes into the event, and that was with lures and incense. The areas around pokestops were clogged with castforms and other commons so thick that I couldn't spin the poke stops without tapping on several, but no charmanders to be found. Also only 2 shiny for the whole event, down from a usual 5-6 for the prior community days. Any one else notice a similar decrease?

We thought the mareep spawns were low, and then we met the charmander spawn rates + the rain... I've scattered 5 lures in the local park and barely found anything. But was glad to see a young couple, an elderly man, and a teenager catch stuff around there.

The rain didn't help me either. I had about 20 pokestops walking around a pond. All of the stops had lures & I caught a decent amount of Charmanders, but all of them were low level and/or low IV. I didn't catch one that was higher than level 29 or 84% IV. And oddly enough, the pond seemed to turn into an Onix nest. I've never seen so many Onix in one place, let alone the pond I was at. All in all, at least for me, this Community Day was a letdown when compared to the other Community days.

I caught about 30 in 45 minutes. It was plenty for me.

It was cloudy weather here and you would almost think it was a machop community day. I bet I saw more spawn than charmander today. I only caught around 30 for 1.5 hours walking around and no shiny for me. I still look forward to whatever the next one will be but today was a dud

Me too this Community Day quite disappointing. There were waay more Venonats and Nidoran (Both) than Charmanders. And I just got 2 2. The worst thing was that it was sunny yet in the game it was cloudy.

It was pouring outside, so I guess the charmander stayed home. I just lured my home stop and had incense running the whole time. In 3 hours only had 16 charmander spawn, lots of venonats though.
On the bright side, the last lure spawn, 5 min to the end was my shiny.

I noticed the spawns of Charmander were really good in my village, but in the larger hunting ground village nearby, they were few and far between, like Dratini.

I suppose that the reason was the change in weather from Clear at the start of the event, to Partly Cloudy.

Moving on bicycle, I was able to catch/inspect 69 Charmander, 2 shiny, in 2 hours.

That’s how it was for me. Couldn’t find too many in comparison to Mateo and Bulbasaur on top of running out of 4G LTE data my phone was slow so I lost out a bit there. Managed to find a few shiny (none any good) but I found a 96% lvl 27 while driving (wouldn’t advise lol). Was a very lame event in terms of spawns but I got a couple of decent Blast Burn Zards and I had about 80 candy before the event. Disappointed it was so sunny and only got partly cloudy weather

Eastern Singapore had scorching sun but the game thought it was cloudy.

I caught 3 shiny in 2 hours playing time.-caught about 80 charmanders total. Unfortunately, my son also caught about 80 and no shinies.

The spawn rate for Charmander seemed like it was about half of what Bulbasaur was. The weather was also not in my favor.

On the other hand, I somehow managed to catch 8 shinies (7 of them were ''not great'') in about 2 hours

Yes. It had to be due to the weather effects. The lured stops I was sitting at were just producing plusles and minuns with a charmander thrown in every 15 minutes.

This definitely felt like a lower rate, it was cloudy where I was and i feel like there was just as many kakuna around as there were charmanders
