One of the few pokemon in the game currently that can get stab from ice moves, and he has tons of defense to make up for low stamina.

Also he is used mostly for attack, I rarely see him used as a defender.

ATM he is the best choice if you don't have Lapras for ice.

You got the best offensive moveset. Try it out the next time you fight a Dragonite and see. I finally evolved one with that moveset today (after getting Frost+Icy and two Ice+Hydro) but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

If you're up against one Dragonite, they're the best at taking it down quickly. Probably can't get 2 unless they're really weak ones. Lapras are better against multiple Dragonites because they have more HP, but don't have as much attack or defence so they do it slightly slower and use up more HP.

Cloyster's higher defence often means you only need to use a super potion to get it back into fighting shape while a Lapras will probably need a hyper.

Because there's two autists that don't like my posts due to a lack of reading comprehension.

Actually, with dodging and some luck, my 2100CP Cloyster can take down two 3000CP Dragonites in a row :). I'm actually happy to see dragonites in gyms these days because they're so easy to take down.

Since the rebalance Cloyster isn't weak anymore it can even take a big hit and not faint or get close to zero. He's quick and will get the job done easily especially with Frost Breath.

If I ever have enough dust leftover I will power up Cloyster, I already have one at a high level which I powered up months ago but it has Ice Shard instead of Frost Breath. I didn't really care too much about gyms back then and only liked him because it looked cool. IS/B is still fine though so no real loss there.

I maxed out this bad boy. He's a great attacker into Dragonite. 86 HP seems low for Lv 33.5, but with his super high Def, he can take some big hits and stay alive. This one is a 98 IV.

One of the best pokemon for prestiging friendly gyms with big dragonites. I would consider keeping him at 1800 CP, because you don't really need him much higher than that anyway -- even as an attacker.

Best for prestiging friendly gym against Dragonite. They are elite attacker and definitely should not be on the defender list.

At 1400CP+, with effective dodge, you could easily take any 3000CP+ Dragon. I have an army of them with FB/BZ from 1400CP to 2000CP and they are among my favorite mons.

Damn, the CP sucks. I hate low tier mons in that CP range because it's never used as a premium attacker or as a prestiger. Total waste

That Cloyster of yours is a dragonite killer. I have the same mon and I powered him up to max at my current level. No regrets. Its just that you need to be good in dodging enemys charge move to survive longer. Cloyster is a glass cannon so dodging is a must during battle..
