Smack Down as Fast Move

So, as dataminers already found out, Smack Down will finally become a fast move, which will make it the only other besides Rock Throwh I believe. A total of 48 Pokemon is supposed to be able to learn it, for example Tyranitar and Golem. I just wanted to ask you which Pokemon you expect to get it, and what move might become legacy? For TTar, I guess Iron Tail, for Golem Rock Throw, I think Armaldo might get it aswell and fear that Fury Cutter will be legacy (I don‘t even have an Armaldo yet). Maybe Omastar gets it aswell, with Mud Shot becoming legacy. And probably Rhydon with Rock Smash going. Or maybe Rhyperior will get it once it’s in the game? What do you guys think?

I'm sort of hoping that Rhydon/Rhyperior and Tyranitar do *not* get it. Let them remain as ground and dark attackers. Giving them rock/rock movesets will overshadow most other rock pokemon. Let other rock type pokemon get Smack Down and have a chance to shine.

I’ll agree with Tyranitar not needing it as he’d become best rock type aswell as keeping his position as best dark type, but rhydon currently is irrelevant as a rock type because of a lacking rock quick move and as a ground type he’s been left in the dust since Groudon arrived.

Rhyperior with SD may make Golem and even legacy Omastar irrelevant.

Provided SD isn't crap, Rhydon with SD would already obsolete every currently existing rock attacker in the game.

Yeah, one interesting drawback is that both of Rhydon's fast moves are resisted by flying.

So finally give Rhydon (and later Rhyperior) its signature Drill Run to make it a cool ground attacker. A two-bar charge move will give it a small advantage, at least for fighting gyms.

I agree. Let Aerodactyl, Armaldo etc. pokemon that currently have no use gain some relevancy. Rock could become the new ice type, with a wide variety of viable attackers.

While on one hand I agree that they should not get a rock quick move so that other Pokemon get a chance to "shine" in the rock department, on the other hand is it silly to not want the best of the best.

Probably another semi-good "Community Day" event pokemon like sudowoodo.

This just made me think what if next community day after Charmander is Rhyhorn and the special move is getting smack down. It’s not set in stone that community day will only ever feature charge moves right?

Imagine a Community Day featuring Jigglypuff (among the most iconic species due to the anime) and introducing the first Fairy-type fast move.

Community day Rydon would be pretty lame since it's not a fully evolved Pokemon (Pikachu was a test run, it doesn't count)

Sudowoodo is an unlikely Community Day pokemon as it doesn't evolve and it's not generally speaking interesting to the playerbase. Larvitar is much more likely to get a CD.

I hope the fossil pokemon will get it. Omastar, Kabutops and aerodactyl.

Aerodactyl needs available movesets Wing Attack/Sky Attack and Smack Down/Rock Slide. Or leave Ancient Power if it receives a buff, maybe cutting the time.

Please give Aero a Rock fast move, I have a 100% (one of my very few) that's just collecting dust
