All Rhyhorns are turd burglars

For some reason any wild Rhyhorns I catch that happen to be a high level (in the 1100-1300 cp range) always turn out to be either "Not likely to make headway" or at best "Above average". Is there a pokemon out there for you where you see a decent amount of high level ones in the wild (or at least during events) but can't find a good one?

I have a few where that is the case - the one that frustrated me the most was exeggcutes. I caught so many of them in the wild, lots with fairly high levels, and none with decent IV scores. The only decent Exeggutors I have are from doing raids.

Spheal.

I have caught about 400 of them, and being in a place with regular Snow, about 100 of them were Level 31+. Of that 100, only 1 ended up being 82%+, and only 2 had Attack of 15 (which did NOT include the one that was 82%+).

And Rhyhorn. Same boat as you with Rhyhorn; I've caught about 20 in this event so far over 1000cp, and every one of them has been meh. But "R"NG will turn for me, and I'll catch that Perfect Level 35 one of these days! (probably the same day I win an actual lottery... better buy those tickets!)

My Spheal issues were movesets, I have 10 Walreins above 2200 CP, most of them over 80% but only one of them got Blizzard. They were so common this winter I evolved a bunch during a double xp event

Thumbs up if it took you reading the title more than once to stop laughing at it.

Friggin Trapinch man. I've caught well over 500 candies' worth and none are worth a mention.

Trapinch is heavily biome dependent. I haven't seen even one in 400-500 catches per day so I think they don't have a similarly boosted rate as Larvitar and Feebas, which are now uncommon instead of ultra rare and rare.

For me that would have to be Lileep. Freaking herb keeps appearing in over 1000CP but none have been a wonder so far. I want a Cradily...

Got one requiring 7000 dust, so it's definitely high level.

You have enough candy for it, why not just evolve one for dex regardless of IVs and then trash it when you find a good one to replace it? It's completely irrelevant to the meta.

Not really enough candy, and it's pretty rare. I've seen more anorith than lileep. So if it's that rare might as well wait on evolving it. It may be irrelevant to the meta, but I'm seeking a 15 attack version before evolving. Might be useful later on, or when my main team's down and I'm out of revives.

It is much rarer than Anorith that's for sure. If you are above 70 candy, it's pretty likely that you will get the candy for evolving a second one before finding a good candidate anyway. And it's not like the IV makes a big difference unless it means you're passing a breakpoint.

I caught a 1438 CP one with 15 attack today, evolved it and it got fighting quick move and Surf. Not much use as an attacker like that.

During the Kanto event I caught a wild lvl 34 Rhydon with 15 a/s.
He got that same moveset but he's gonna make a swell Rhyperior

I got a perfect IV Rhyhorn 1295 CP frpm this event.

Abras are probably one of the only Pokemon I’ve actually caught upwards of 2-300 among meta relevant Pokemon. The only other one is Geodudes but I have a handful of 91%+ that don’t get used because of the raid bosses now but Rhyhorn feels worthless at times. I’ve gotten at least 12 that had 1450+ CP that were only decent. I have about 6-7 Rhydons that are good but only one has a good moveset so hopefully Rhyperior will be king

1530-1550 can all be 95% best of luck to you. Now is the time to nab one!

Geodude
My weather here is mostly sunny and partly cloudy so I get tons of weather boosted dudes, but I don't have a single golum above 87%.

I had actually really good luck with Rhyhorns almost all end up being 70%-90% but when we are talking about Spheals or Mudkips I end up having the same issue

How about 3710 geodude, 313 graveler, 251 golem, and not a single hundo?

Up

Well, you are below average. Would need to know how many of them were weatherboosted to know by how much. But remember that prior to weather, the odds of a hundo from the wild were 1/4096.

Having the same problem with pretty much any Pokemon I encounter. Oddish, Rhyhorn, Poliwag, Magikarp, Abra, Exeggcute, any of the Kanto starters during the event, Spheal. Two notable exceptions are Machop and the Nidorino-couple.
I guess it makes sense statistically speaking, but it's quite frustrating.

In the few cases I had "wonders", such as my hatched Dratinis, I got terrible movesets at the end of the evolution line and after spending 250 hard-earned Dratini candies.

Yesterday I did catch a 100% Wailmer, but at very low level (stardust cost 400) and knowing my luck the moves I'll be getting post-evolution will suck.

Makuhita and Ralts. We had 80% cloudy weather for most of the winter and I've caught a ton of both weatherboosted. I have one ok Ralts (87%), not even 1 remotely good Makuhita. Have never hatched a good one of either.

So I'm not the only one ending up with crap high CP Rhyhorns?
