That's what PoGo is all about these days

On one hand, this is annoying. I started back before Raids and Weather Boosting, so for me to have a Pokémon above my level was a pipe dream. I'm a bit jealous that a Level 7 player can have a Level 25 Pokémon because that's something I could never have.

On the other hand, I like that new players can come in and be useful in Raids after just 1 raid (a Legendary raid, that Ttar, etc.), and that I can do a raid with that Level 7 player. That we aren't kept apart due to our different levels. It creates a more level playing field, which is welcoming to new players and can make the community stronger - it would really, really suck if that Level 7 player couldn't go on raids with players who were of a higher level (like level 13), for example, which would make Raiding even more difficult than it can be currently.

But man - it does sometimes feel like new players are getting something they didn't "earn" like the rest of us old-timer's, doesn't it?

Question is, what did he use to fight the Ttar boss with? :)

They are probably creating a "Battle Ready Alt". So they will know people doing the Ttar raid and be throwing their new account in with the rest with anything and everything they have. I raid with a few that have made these types of alts. As long as the group at the raid don't mind or there is plenty of space in the lobby then it shouldn't be an issue. Long winded reply, my bad. :D

This is how my alt is looking right now; nothing powered up but plenty of level 20/25 raid catches that keep their CP even well under level 20 Trainer level.

For example, my first raid catch on it (level 6-7) was a 2877 Groudon,

The pic’s original Alt likely ran out of revives. Sometimes might be easier to just start over than refill raiding account revives

There is no challenge in this game anymore. There hasn't been since the gym change. Soloing level 3 raids, and if you have a friend to duo raids is about it. In addition to that, none of the non-legendary gen 2 and 3 Pokemon are significantly better than those in gen 1. I'm rolling with the same old pokemon. Let the downvotes fly!

Gen 2:
Blissey (much better defender than anything in gen 1)
Tyranitar (much better dark attacker than anything in gen 1)
Scizor (much better steel attacker than anything in gen 1)
Houndoom (much better dark attacker than anything in gen 1)

Gen 3:
Sceptile (better dodge-friendly grass attacker than anything in gen 1&2)
Gardevoir (much better fairy attacker, much better in-between defender than anything in gen 1&2)
Metagross (better steel attacker than anything in gen 1&2)

Yes, there aren't that many of them, but saying there's none is a blatant untruth.

EDIT: 2 people apparently like to live in a fantasy where gen 1 is the only relevant generation.

And really, we wouldn't want all the previous gen stuff obsolete every new generation.

My son started during the double XP event and is at level 30. I've been playing since start and an at level 36. I definitely have had more fun and remember each of my level jumps more than he ever could.

The double XP then double candy events have definitely made this a good year to start the game

There are no dark types in gen 1 so obviously ttar and houndoom are better, even murkrow.
The only steel type are the magnemite family which doesn't have a steel fast move, so again no surprise regarding scizor.

Indeed, it's quite obvious that these pokemon bring new things to the table because gen 1 lacks some things altogether. Which is why it's baffling that someone would claim that gen 2&3 don't add any pokemon of value.
