Latios is shit (better than latias FWIW), why would you power it up?

Edit: That was a bit strong and I apologise. However, I would still not advise powering up Latios for the reasons listed below.

Ok, 'shit' is a bit too far, but even sally is a better dragon than latios. There are 2 better options that aren't even legendary.

DB/DC is a novel moveset if you don't already have one DB/DC dragonite, but it is really not that glam if you ask me...

I don't have a Dragonite with DB/DC so my Latios sees more use. He's so frantic in battle

Then I wouldn't be giving you a real answer.

Latios is indeed quite shit. What matchup would you want a DB/DC Latios in? It is analogous to DB/DC Dragonite. Great for novelty, but what are you actually going to use it for. Generalists need to do some insane damage for not doing SE to their matchups. DB/DC is only 'ok' damage.

I hate hypocrisy so I usually come out and say what needs to be said. However, the poster below pointed out the psychic subtyping which I completely missed so I do take that point. However, a simple rebuttal would be you simply need dark types to tackle psychic types, and not 'dual typing psychic mons with okay-ish neutral damage'

Very simple psychic and dragon typing give it match up where they out perform the other dragons!

I caught 17 and threw away the bad ones, so I’m approaching the candy to get one to level 30. I also got a 15/13/15; 14/15/14; boosted 15/15/10; boosted 15/13/12 among those catches. Not a terrible idea to use your candy if you get a quality one

There's still another couple weeks before you need to decide and you might get a better one in that time. I would go with (2) because S is Latios' weak point and the difference between 14A and 15A is not going to matter the majority of the time.

I was planning to use the candy I have on the best Latios, because why not? What else can I do with that candy? And yes, I was definitely planning to wait for the end. Just curious which of the two is worth the marginal candy.

On the subject of "usefulness" I would rephrase it to ask whether it is worth spending rare candy on, and my answer is no. I have better places to spend the candy.

Is it worth the dust? You have thousands of candy lying around for various species of pokemon but dust is the reason you don't just spend all that candy on powering up. If you don't have a use in mind for Latios, you should hold off on powering it up even if you have some candy for it.
