Can reasearch reward Pokémon flee?
I don't know what
"If you flee from a reward encounter, you can get another challenge and still go back to the reward encounter"
is supposed to mean.
Do normal flee rates apply to research reward Pokémon?
Should I GRB to be on the safe side, or is it impossible for them to run and it's Pinaps all the way?

They can't run so pinap all you want.
"If you flee from a reward encounter, you can get another challenge and still go back to the reward encounter"
It means that you can save the encounter for later by fleeing from it. Your saved encounters will form a queue at the top slot of the task list and you can go through them at any time, but only in order. Can be useful for completing further tasks, for example saving Ponyta/Onix/Ninetales for excellent throws or 3 fire type encounters for "catch 3 fire-type pokemon" etc.
