Is Pidgeot good against Alakazam?

I am trying to find uses for Pidgeot with Hurricane. Is Alakazam weak to this kind of charge move?

I don't know about Alakazam, but it's great against Exeggutor and other grasses

Pidgeot can be used against Exeggutor and other grass, fight and bug mons in gyms. Good luck finding them though.

Pidgeot and Alakazam are just neutral damage to each other. Hurricane is awesome but you better dodge his attacks.

Against Alakazam use Bug moves, Pinsir with FC/XS is a great counter to him, but i never saw a Alakazam defending a gym anyway. Forget about pidgeot.

Alakzam is still rare for some people I guess but I do see him in gyms quite a lot.

Same. Think he may be underestimated, not dodging quick moves he's a pain. Also hard to prestige efficiency.

Alakazam is terrible on defending and awesome on attacking, thats why you'll see few of then defending no matter the season.

Gyarados is easily beat with attackers less than half CP. Can't be said for alakazam. Even WITH dodging his attacks take large chunks of health. He's not top tier, but not half bad either.

Was just my opinion.

I agree with Jedi, at least Alakazam hasn't got an easy-to-abuse typing. When attacked by a Jolteon, Gyarados' extra defensive stats compared to Alakazam aren't worth much. And Alakazam has access to Confusion/Psychic, a great defensive moveset, while Gyarados is stuck with Bite.

Pidgeot with Wing Attack+Hurricane is also good for prestiging against a Snorlax with Lick+Earthquake, with resistance to each move allowing for missing a lot of dodges as well. Okay against Lick+normal type charge move also, but you can't miss as many doges.

Why would anyone put a Lick / Earthquake Snorlax in a gym? That's a flat-out terrible defender.

Alakazam has such low HP having SE moveset isnt necessary. Dark moves like Bite are SE on Psychic.

I think a maxed out Alakazam with Confusion and Psychic has its place in certain gyms. He's easy to defeat in a gym with only 3-4 mons but I think in a level 10 gym he can be a royal PITA, especially if he is 2500-2600 and mixed in the middle.

He hits hard and not many people have experience dodging him/his moves. If you don't dodge he can mess you up and you will have to fight him multiple times when defeating the gym.

I have a 2500+ one with this moveset and save him for putting in those big gyms. When switching between 'mons during a battle or defeating one and going to the next and not having the right 'mon ready you can take some big damage.

As for Pidgeot - don't think he is great to use but if you want to use him vs Alakazam go for it. Just make sure you dodge.

Pidgeot is a sneaky good attacker against Snorlax (especially with Lick / Earthquake). Obviously there are better alternatives but I actually like using Pidgeot against Snorlax (pinning the ultra common against the ultra rare).

If you're having trouble with Alakazam, try a weak bug type. With some dodging I have taken down a 2800+ Alakazam with a 1473 Venomoth with Bug Bite / Bug Buzz. Pure psychic is weak to bug! This will have a massive effect on prestige.

If you insist on using WA/Hurricane Pidgeot you could try it against a defending Exeggutor
