gardevoir or gallade?

i have an 89% almost maxed out ralts, and it can be my first gardevoir

but im thinking, will gallade be any good? should i just wait for gen 4, and hope it's not difficult to evolve, or just get a decent fairy type attacker right now?

Gardevoir would be better... Due to its type...
Psych Fairy is more useful than Psych Fighting... IMO... Good Luck!

Should have very similar stats, the typings could matter but I think Gallade’s moveset matters more. He could be among a top tier fighting type as well as a good psychic type. Dazzling Gleam has good use. Gallades typing doesn’t have good synergy against very many Pokemon but Gardevoir doesn’t have the greatest either. Preference and move sets imo will determine who will be better

Have you checked the gender of your Ralts? I've heard that in Gen 4 males will evolve to Gallade while females will become Gardevoirs.

1) Did you already power up the Ralts but didn't evolve?

2) There's always a chance of moves going legacy, I always thought Dazzling Gleam would be replaced by the somewhat inferior Moonblast

3) Then again, you never know when a Ralts community day may happen with a good, non-TMable exclusive move.

If we're seriously talking gen 4 like it's going to happen anytime soon, then Togekiss will probably be more relevant. Then again, their moves are a crapshoot rn, especially cause there's no fairy type quick-move yet.

Gardevoir has the advantage of double-resisting fighting and having arguably the best defensive moveset in the game. It's very useful against dragons and fighting, but outside of that it's a little under the performance of dragons/ttar/legendaries. I still use mine a lot though and it's great for holding down gyms that feature Blissey/Snorlax/TTar/Dragonite

First of all, is your Ralts male? Most likely only males will be able to evolve into Gallade.

Gallade could become a good fighting type looking at its stats, but it's unlikely to be as good as Machamp in the current system because it can't learn Counter or Dynamic Punch. Ofc it's also possible that it gets a new fighting type moveset that outranks C/DP but I wouldn't count on that.
The psychic typing makes it neutral to psychic and to dark, so it's both a pro and a con for a fighting mon. It has no chance of competing with Espeon and Alakazam as a psychic-type mon.

So as Gallade is unlikely to be the best at anything, I would rather go for Gardevoir now. It's great for soloing Machamp with fighting moves and ok for countering dragon-types.

Machamp is not immune to dark though? Fighting is not immune to another type, just dealing SE into dark and resisting dark. Have a look at bulbapedia for Gallade's effective chart and it is only weak to flying (from fighting), fairy (from fighting) and ghost (from psychic)

Especially since the typing is still weak to DG, the only gain from Machamp seems to be the ZH resist from defenders.

There is an upgraded attack, but we need the moves to be good as well.
