April Community Day

As the egg distance will be 25% of the original distance, if i use the super incubator for a 10km egg, will it become 10 x 0.25 x 0.667 = 1.675km?

Yes, but for only the 3 hours the community day event lasts?
If so, what good is that unless you spend the whole 3 hours on the move?

Apparently Mareep will have a 50% capture rate, so it's going to be much easier to keep moving while catching Mareep.

(assuming you're not trying to walk around in freezing rain. Which is likely what is going to be happening around here. Glad I already have 150 Mareep candies lying around unused...)

Why would you not spend the whole 3 hours on the move? The bonus to hatching is pretty massive, you'll easily hatch 8 10ks just walking somewhat straight lines for the 3h with just the free incubator.

2,5km x 8 eggs = 20km on 3h. An Average person walks around 5km/h.

Also, you will probably want to catch pokemons meaning that you will slow down.

I'd say the best way is to use regular pay-incubators for 10k eggs and try to hatch space with your free incubator.

Gotta admit that I do walk faster than the average person, but you have a good point with the slowing down to catch mons. If one wanted to optimize, biking very short distances and stopping to catch mons might be optimal since the game averages the distance over 1 minute intervals.

Has there been any word on if you can put an egg in an incubator before the event starts and then have its walking distance reduced? Or will it be like lures that only get the bonus if they are started once the event begins?
