Worth transfering legendaries for candy?

Since it's a double candy event I am considering transfering all legendaries below 80% IV. I never actually use them.

The only thing that keeps me back is "possibility" of trading.

What do you guys think?

I would save some weather boosted raid bosses (basically Ho-Oh and onwards). Some like Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza are already near the best of their type at level 25 compared to their non-legendary counterparts at level 40, regardless of IV.

If you want to transfer your 74% Zapdos from last year, go ahead. This is the time to do it.

True for Groudon and Kyogre, not true for Rayquaza. Level 25 Ray is useable and worth keeping, but not really close in performance to maxed Dragonite/Salamence because of how fragile it is.

Don't count on trading becoming a thing anytime soon. Otherwise, should you transfer your "useless" Legendaries now, you effectively save either one rare candy, or 20km of walking (and an additional Pokebox slot for each one you transfer).

I also think so, niantic should solve problem with multiaccounters first, which doesn't looks solvable...

I have a solution. Not for multi-accounters themselves, but for halting unfair trading between their accounts: Just make it so all traded pokemon "regress" back to a lower level every time they are traded; something like a hard-cut back to level 20 -regardless of the level it was originally caught- would do the trick. That way, cheaters will have to reinvest resources all over again in a certain Pokemon and make it virtually impossible to have a single ultra-powerful account without normal grinding.

I did, no regrets. I power up and use a maximum of 2 of each legendary because I like variety in my team. I mean, I kept a few more Raikou and Kyogre, just because I they are above 90% and they are damn useful, and a few weather boosted ones, but generally I hoard legendaries only waiting for these events.

Absolutely! It is the right time to do that!

I've been waiting so long for this moment to free all this space in my inventory...and finally managed to give a few extra power ups to some of my best legendary with no investment of rare candy.

Lol im transfering everything below 96. Dont see a reason to keep a legendary im not going to power up. For the same reason i transferred a couple of mewtwos, shiny dratinis, shiny bulbasaurs.

Works if you scored that good of all legendaries I guess. I maxed a 91% Kyogre because the only one higher that I saw (98%) out of 50 or so raids didn't stay in 12 balls.

I'm not gonna transfer any Mewtwo's till I have 18 better IV ones than the ones I already have. Full squad of Focus Blast, full squad of shadow ball, full squad of pyscic...Hyper Beam is just useless. That's my goal by the way, not what I have...

This week I threw away a 2198 and 2202, no regrets;) Seeing what I get on Saturday to see if I'll ditch another one

Absolutely transfer all that you don't plan on using. Legendaries without very good IVs are unlikely to have much trading value even if trading does come out, because the research feature seems to be giving them out to everyone who missed them initially and city players will have a lot of them lying around to saturate the market.

Personally I only keep 3 of each legendary, no exceptions. Would keep 6 of the better species if I thought it was realistic that I ever power up that many.

Potential trading value for legendaries below 90 is zero! Only sought after legendaries in trading would be 100% (and probably maxed out to lvl 40 as well).

Legendaries are probably the most abundant Pokedex fillers, most people have several of them.

This exactly. An above 90 legendary would probably hold some value, at least if powered up, but even those are fairly abundant everywhere that has an active raid scene.

Yes. I had everything lined up and the transferring started at 4:01pm EST.

Look, the longer the game goes, the more legendaries will be released. It just isn't practical to keep all of them in a finite box if you raid a lot, on the off-chance that trading will someday be implemented. Transfer the ones you will never use or power up, get your candy, and profit. I saved well more than 100 Rare Candy from doing just that.

Same level 40 account...11 EX invites from Jan 30th to April 22nd. Only interest I’d have in trading for a Mewtwo would be 15a and 93%+ and/or 14a and 96%+

It's an extra candy for free. Double candy for transfers is a rare event perk these days. Use it while you can.

Definitely. I had 200+ legendaries and rares tagged and ready to go waiting for double candy. Finally have some breathing room in my box!
