I’ve searched trying to find a consensus- currently dragon tail/I’ve beam, I have plenty of both TM so trying for a specific move I don’t mind. Considering I want to use in Raids, also in solo level 3 ( I can do all easily so I’ll throw in for fun) and gyms which would be the best all around moveset to have?

For all purpose use, his STAB moves are probably the way to go

Sub-question: What moves have you cycled through so far?
I predicted I would get Bulldoze when I caught Mew and I did :(
SC/Bulldoze>>>SC/Blizzard>>>>SC/Ice Beam.
I'm gonna keep that moveset for now since it's semi relevant to the Lati-twins

I just used 16 fast TMs on Mew still no good result, struggle bug 4+ times, cut 4+ times. After that I just did 1 charge TM, started at Grass Knot and got Psychic.

For some reason I thought he could learn Zen Headbutt but I just looked and he can't. I'm thinking Cut might be good just because it's neutral and fast and gets 10 EPS

I was going for something cool on fast TMs first, shadow claw Or dragon tail since not sure I care about Mew. Psychic is decidedly not cool, so back to not caring about Mew

I used a total of 11 TMs and got Shadow Claw/Dark Pulse. Stopped there.

I thought about stopping at Rock Smash or Frost Breath...started waterfall, cut, struggle bug, cut, charge beam, infestation, struggle bug, pound, cut, struggle bug, rock smash, frost breath, cut, struggle bug, lag/error which seemed to use 2, pound

This gives me flashbacks of trying to get Shadow Ball on Mewtwo and I still haven't got it. I finally just settled for Psychic and use him to lead off Machamp and Gengar raids

What happened is today I did two Latios raids and got 2xCTMs and 2xFTMs on both...changed two previous high IV Latios (one boosted) to Dragon Claw on first try, then changed a level 30 Hariyama from HS to Dynamic Punch on first try. After that luck flushed out those FTMs bc I don’t really care about them.

You lucky bastard. You're so close to the right moveset, just need some fast TMs.

While it's not the absolute best moveset on Mew, the one you should go for is Frost Breath/Ice Beam. ProdigiesNation did an analysis of this moveste and found that it puts Mew on par with Lapras, making it a high level Ice Type pokemon.

While other movesets are technically better, it has no chance of overtaking the best Psychic or Dragon types or even being in the top 5. With Ice types, Mew could actually see use. It becomes the #2 Ice type, tied with Legacy Lapras and only behind Arcticuno until Gen 4 releases.

As for Stab, forgetaboutit. I'd favor weather typing over Stab in this case.

Very true. Back when Mew was first announced, I looked at his movelist and thought making him an Ice attacker would actually make him viable because every other type has far superior options

I was thinking something like Shadow Claw/Dazzling gleam, SC/dark pulse, SC/DC, figure can be somewhat relevant vs dragon twins also either machamp/Alakazam raids for fun and all decent for gym sweeps

DT/IB is fine but I legit hate DT

I guess I should just admit I really have no clue what moveset I want with mew im now annoyed lol

I have four 2225 to 2300 Blizzard Walreins, 2500 Articuno, 2293 IS/IB Lapras, plus all the common ice stuff. For the 5 minutes I was using TMs on it, SC/DG was my highest hope. Ice Mew would barely make me want to take it to 2000.

I hate Dragon Tail, too. Those 1.1-sec moves are always JUST shy of getting in two hits between dodges against many defending move durations.

I did a graph of Mew's fast moves, plotting DPS vs EPS. The Pareto frontier of the best moves looks like this, going from best EPS to best DPS:

Charge Beam
Infestation
Snarl
Pound
Poison Jab
Dragon Tail
Steel Wing

Steel Wing is only a tiny bit more damage than Dragon Tail for a significant energy loss. Shadow Claw is a hair lower EPS than Poison Jab, for the same DPS. Of the remaining moves, Frost Breath is the closest to the frontier.

For the best combination with relevance to Latios/Latias, Snarl is probably the winner, with Dragon Tail a close second. Of course, this assumes you have a good charged move that's worth powering up. Otherwise, Steel Wing is top drawer.

My Mew came with Charge Beam/Solar Beam, an interesting set, best possible energy generation and highest overall Base Damage. Not sure it's close to optimal, but I'm not overly worried about it.

I got shadow claw and ancient power. I think that's decent.

Why is this even a question?

This is a SHIT-TIER Pokemon and as such using any Training Manuals on it is wasteful.

I hope you're not Mystic. Do shit damage in other people's raids, please. <3 u Git Gud.

Maybe, but I don't see a point in having more than 10 fast TMs either--unless you have the full 1500 bag, I have 700.

Mystic doesn't need SE damage, at least in my area, they got the numbers. Most of them run Aggrons to save revives and they still get all the premiere balls.

I doing the same. Im low on Revives and with our numbers i usually put 3-4 Agrrons and rest mons with good DPS.

Right, so you mean a 620 total base stats are shit tier? What are then for you Exeggutor (581), Gengar (537) and Gardevoir (593)? Even the mighty Moltres is 615.

No, Mew is the most balanced pokemon in the game. You may or may not like that it's 210 attack or that it doesn't have a STAB fast move, but it's very far from being a shit tier pokemon.

Machamp is only 576, so it is shitter than Mew? Doesn't make sense.

For right now, I got, and like shadow claw/dazzling gleam. I powered mew up to level 30. At that level, he can tank one solar beam. So, can reliably get off three dazzling gleams against Latios before fainting. If I was doing an extreme raid, two or three manning, I would swap him out. Otherwise, he does ok and is fun to play.

I caught mine with poison jab/psyshock. Kept psyshock and was trying for either shadow claw or dragon tail. Took 24 fast tms but made it to dragon tail.

I ended up with Frost Breath/Ice Beam after about 10 CTMs and stopped there. It is actually a decent moveset because of its double effectiveness against Dragonite/Salamence and due to the fact that ice attackers have low attack stats (other than Jynx, a glass cannon).

Agreed. There's still STAB to take into account for ice attackers, but FB/IB is very comfortable to fight with being easy to dodge with, high-energy gain, strong and 2-bar. Comparatively, Walrein learns only 1-bar blizzard, and for Lapras Ice Beam is legacy, while none of them really pack the attack stat to make them better than Mew.
