Dragon Pulse Announced as Exclusive Ampharos Community Day Move

I'm OK with this move for three reasons:

1. It might augur mega evolutions.
2. They might buff it (my legacy Dragonite is waiting). They wouldn't even have to buff the damage; they could reduce the duration instead.
3. A two-bar move increases Ampharos's defensive profile.

Other thoughts?

YES! My Dragon Pulse Lapras will be relevant again!

Dragon Pulse Lapras can never be useful outside of Latios/Latias, unfortunately, because most Dragons have double weakness to Ice.

Dragon Pulse is a relatively weak move so buffing it wouldn't be a bad thing to do.
Even without a buff it's going to be Ampharos's best defensive charge move due to being two-bar and having good neutral coverage.

Oh man, I've been hoping for a buff since the gen 2 launch. Not only do I still have my DB/DP Dragonite, but I also have two Laprases and two Gyaradoses with DP.

Personally not super stoked about it only because I was looking forward to getting a solid electric type since I haven’t had any luck with even Jolteon and no legends before Ray. Still it’s a cool move and has use but I do like the idea of Mega Evolved Pokemon in general. Still waiting for mega Pidgeot since it’s one of only 3 100% I have and the only one above lvl 30

MMike024,

If you want a solid electric type, wait a few weeks and keep doing your field research. It seems likely (but not certain) that both a Zapdos and a Raikou will come to you (like all of us).

I have almost the worst possible Zapdos (10/12/10 ads, Thunder), and no Raikou. I wasn't expecting Ampharos to suddenly jump up into that class with a special move from the event, so not disappointed, per se.

I want the next community day to be Pidgey and you get a rechargeable Pidgeotite if you evolve one twice.
