Latios worth powering up if I missed the Dratini CD and Rayquaza?

He's a fine replacement for Dragonite and he's easier to dodge with.

Yes, Latios is noticibly less dps than a DT/Outrage Dragonite but is still good dps.

For me the key to Latios power up, is for Gym Sweeping. So many stacked gyms rely on Psychic Quick Move on Blissey/Chansey/Snorlax/Gardevoir/Clefable that resisting that will be nice niche.

Latios vs Dragonite in general for Gyms is a wash as Latios is about 20% more bulk (Def*HP) but about 20% less DPS (about 15 from attack and rest from moveset)

So it's generally a wash in terms of potion usage, though it takes a little more time, of course if your fighting a demotivated gym the ability to dodge or not waste time energy with DB/DC vs DT/Outrage might actually make it faster and or more potion efficient.

Toss in the fact that it will resist more psychic moves in gym and it feels like a Niche Use winner.

For raids, it should have similar total damage to Dragonite, but less DPS.

ABSOLUTELY! I have a 100% maxed-out Dragonite, but he doesn't have Dragon Tail/Dragon Claw. I LOVE Dragon Claw inasmuch as it is easier to dodge with and thus clear gyms with. 3 bars is better than 2 or 1 for clearing low-motivation gyms as 2 and 1 bar moves are most often overkill, not to mention slower so you take more damage while channeling.

Yep. Definitely worth powering up if you don't have Rayquaza and missed the Dratini event. Absolutely; it's a damn find Pokémon that has the unfortunate problem of Bad Timing for most players.

But yes - power it up! (yeah, you might find a better one. And you might even catch that better one. But then you could have 2 great Latios instead of 1! Win/Win!)

I caught a 2069 yesterday 15a/12/15. I’m putting my earned Latios candies towards it as I go. If/when I get a better one I’ll leave this one alone and actually put RC towards that potential 98 or 100%. I’m 36 hours from reaching level 40, so will scale back and probably will do just about 20 more Latios raids

I'm maxing one of each big dragon (Latias excepted), so will definitely be taking a Latios to level 40. Best so far is a 2074 15 13 15, but will wait till it goes away. Might get a better one, but happy with this if not!
