Ditto

How long did it take you to find Ditto for the Mew quest? I've just spent the last 3 days in perfect partly cloudy Ditto weather catching every relevant mon and finally got him a few minutes ago.

I'm guessing it took me 500+ tries!

Not long, caught him on the same evening I got the quest. That's one benefit of living in an area full of commons. Finding a worthy magikarp to sacrifice to Mew is going to be a doozy though.

You just know Magikarp is gonna be the May star of Community Day after using all your candies for Mew

That or a nest rotation that will bring 30 freaking karps per hour 15 minutes away from me... after I will find an acceptable karp from raids / lake somewhat far from home.

I've never seen a rotated karp nest but I used to have a reliable spot that could give me 2 or 3 per visit. Weather system killed it

There were karp nests at 2 parks, neither of which were close enough to home, but I was looking for shinies and good karps there last summer, but no really good findings nor shiny. Might go to the lake tomorrow.

I found one just before I reached the stage with "Catch a Ditto", then I found another one when I needed to. A 2nd one a bit later.
Then I went with a fellow player who had reached that quest to try and get him one and found one in like 15 minutes.

It really helps that I have a place nearby where Ditto isn't that rare. Of the 43 Ditto I've caught, I'd say that 30-35 have come from that place.

There's 3 or 4 ghost raid bosses out now that could help you

Gastly is a reward for some of the quests.

30 mins but I was tipped off by someone in a raid. I then found another one an hour later.

Hmmm I always thought Ditto spawns were random for each person. Good to know

Ditto was quite literally the first pokemon i caught after recieving the quest.

I have 2 100% Milotics and 19 Shiny Magikarp

I got my after 100 or so encounters in partly cloudy. Evolved 98% 15a Gyarados, just need four more raids...also need 450k to 40, am pleased about the 35k or so in XP that'll come with Mew.
