How good is Latios?

Good cp but poor moves from what i can tell. It would seem to me that it is outclasses as a dragon type by Raquaza, Salamance, and Dragonite.

It is not double weak to ice like them but has a worse charge move.

Will it have any pull with double psychic moves?

'Poor moves' is a wholly inaccurate statement. DB/DC is a great, quick moveset that does a stellar job with generalist gym-sweeping. This is the moveset you want.

As for its use as a psychic attacker, I'm not convinced. There are better options out there ('zam, Espeon, Mewtwo).

It is, in a vacuum.

However, for generalist gym-sweeping, you would be in a better position if you had a quick fast move with a multi-bar charged move. This is what DB/DC gives you, especially relative to the lethargic DT/Ou combination.

Fully agree. I have used more Tyranitar than Dragonite or Rayquaza as gym sweeper generalists just because it has 3-bar moves and kicks ass with stellar attack and bulk, even if the move itself is slow.

With the state of gyms, at least in round 2 and 3, I prefer KC/Crosschop Machamp and DB/DC Dragonite. I like them for blowing through weakened pokemon.

As a psychic attacker, it should be pretty solid, given that a level 40 Espeon with perfect IVs tops out at CP 3000, and a level 29.5 Latios with all 13s for IVs has a CP of 3020. That's way less dust, and less candy (admittedly rare candy) to get there. Sure, ZH/P isn't nearly as good as C/FS, but I'd argue that even with a poor moveset and slightly lower attack, the fact that Latios is way tankier than Espeon or Alakazam slots it nicely into the second position after Mewtwo as a psychic attacker, because of it's strong CP.

Not really, Lugia > Latios for Physic attacker since Lugia have access to Future Sight, which is a much better move than the awful Physic.

Lugia: 193 base attack
Latios: 268 base attack
Future Sight from L40 Lugia on Machamp raid boss: 129 damage
Psychic from L40 Latios on Machamp raid boss: 146 damage
Psychic is bad, yes, but Future Sight isn't exactly a stellar move and far from being able to overcome a massive difference of 75 base attack stat.
Latios is the 4th best DPS psychic type and has a solid 14% DPS lead on ES/FS Lugia judging by time to win against Machamp.

As a gym sweeper, it also resists Zen Headbutt which a lot of ubiquitous defenders have, although is still weak to the fairy charge moves.

Latios hits a few points harder than dragonite, and had twenty points of stamina turned into defense, with a few points extra defense thrown in. He also has the once coveted DB/DC moveset, which I never got before it became legacy. I think that if you don't dodge, DT/O is better, but maybe it is good to keep this option around in case the game changes in ways that make dodging important, again.

"Verdict: With the available information, Latios is a poor investment of Rare Candy unless you have a ton of it lying around."

If ever I can have 2x dragon move Latios/Latias... That would be my wish... I didn't got a chance to have DC Nites... I only got Dragon pulse as legacy move...
So if i can have Latios/Latias with DB/DC I would be thankful... Fast moves makes me comfortable...
