Should be at least a few months, to be fair to the casual players.

Sweet. I'm at lvl 33. And this would be my first legend. Depending on what happens this wknd.

I would imagine it will be permanent. I don't think Niantic would shut it down for people who just started the quest before the next one releases.

The Mew quest will most likely coexist with whatever comes next

I'm with Solid Snake. If someone starts the game in three months, I think Mew will still be there for them to quest for (might take them a while). And eventually, there will be another special quest, and once one finishes Mew, one can do that one, and so on.

I'd go a step further and say Mew and Celebi quests might be active at the same time. LIke if there's an egg walking objective for Celebi, a new player could get credit for both Mew and Celebi egg walking at the same time. Of course Celebi will have it's own brick walls to deal with like Ditto and Gyarados

I see the special research as a story mode, so I think you go one at a time mew>celibi>jurachi or whatever comes next. I don't see you tracking more then one mythic at a time.
