I got a 1298 Mew CP with 3 IV Combination based on appraisal....how much do i need to power up to narrow it down further?

Pretty stoked i finally got my Mew today, however i got a 1298cp Mew which could mean it is either 84, 87 or 89 IV.

Doing the appraisal didn't help much as it only told me HP and "Best i ever seen" and all 3 possible iv have 15 HP

Does anyone know how much do i need to power my mew to be able determine and narrow down further which is the IV i obtained?

I guess I’m the only person who thought this was a brag disguised as a question. I just assumed that someone who was able to get a Mew that fast would already understand how iv calculators work. I apologize if I was mistaken.

i tried powering up till 20.5 but still shows 3 iv combination

Will need to find more rare candies to pump my mew

IV Fast tells you how far, or even never.

You should be sitting on 23 Mew candy after catching this mon. Where did the rest go?

... That is how much candy is needed to get up to level 20.5. :-/

1) Pray for 89.

2) Power him up, then check its IV.

3) If it narrows, great. If not, repeat step 2 until the IV range narrows.

If it is 89 IV then the attack is poor. IV 84 have best attack stats (13).

What IV scanner are you using? Calcy IV has an option to refine a Pokemon based on historical scans. That might help you.

haven't tried using calcy before.....might give it a shot

PokeGenie will remember your previous caps and factor that in.

If you're using iOS, you won't be able to use Calcy IV.

You can use the CP calculator to find out at which level the CP differs for the different IV combinations. Then you can decide whether it is worth the Candy.

I use the 'Toolkit for Pokemon GO'.
Its IVchecker displays not only the possible IV combinations of a pokemon but also, if there are any, the resulting CP after its evolution(s).
For all of them you can use a slider to check if the different IV combinations
lead to different CP or HP.
But you have to enter CP, Appraisal and stardust by hand.

It is not possible to know its exact IV without 3rd party apps. Mew has identical attack and defense, which means for example 1 ATK IV increase is equal to 2 DEF IV decrease (e.g. 11ATK 14DEF = 12ATK 12DEF). These three IV combinations of your Mew have identical CP and HP.

Well, you can check your attack IV without a calculator if they all fail you.

You need to find the nearest breakpoint of your fastattack vs magiccarp as a raidboss.
Check if you need one fastattack less than before, you level up your mew until his highest possible atk IV would hit it and fight magiccarp.

If you can take down magiccarp with the desired number of fastattacks you know your atk IV.
