who's the best grass type now?? Venusaur / Sceptile / Exeggutor?

1) who's the best grass type now?? Venusaur / Sceptile / Exeggutor?
and what movesets should they possess?

2) Are they future proof??

Gamepress said Tangrowth (Gen 4), Roserade (Gen 4), Shaymin (Gen 4), and Virizion (Gen 5) are its competitors. What do you think? What are their CPs and stats?

3) which of these 3 would you use to sweep gyms, assuming you have successfully knocked out Blissey, and the remaining gym defenders include rhydon, vaporeon, donphan, golem?

1) EDIT: Seems that Venusaur is the best instead, my info was based on earlier data with 2,8s CD Frenzy Plant.
BS/SoB, VW/FP and FC/LB are the optimal movesets.

2) They are pretty future-proof. Tangrowth has lower attack stat but potentially amazing moveset and is much tankier. Roserade has high attack stat but is very glassy. Shaymin has low attack stat so probably not useful at all (also mythical and none of those are currently released). Whatever ends up being the best, the others aren't much worse, so any investments now won't be too wasted.

3) Sceptile or FP Venusaur depending on how much motivation is left.

Venusaur is now on top since the CD for FP is 2.6 sec instead of the predicted 2.8 sec. He is the top choice against regirock in clear weather.

Hadn't had time to read TSR today, that's a big change. Now I'm extra sad that I couldn't TM my previously evolved and maxed 100% Venusaur to have FP.

1. Venusaur (VW/FP)>Exeggutor (BS/SoB)>Sceptile (Leaf Blade)

2. ATK values: Tangrowth 207, Roserade 243, Shaymin 210, Virizion 192. Roserade could be a great grass attacker but she is too fragile. It all depends what movesets they will get anyway.

3. Venusaur/Sceptile as they have multi-bar charge moves which prevents overkill in gym battles.

Venesaur > Exeggutor

Sceptile is too Glassy to be viable.

Yet Sceptile was by far the best grass-type against Blizzard Kyogre, since all of them got OHKO'd by the charge move anyway. Sceptile is glassy, but not so glassy that it's not viable.

Venasaur is still going to be more consistent. Its hard to argue when sceptile only wins in a small amount of match up.

Sceptile can dodge once or twice to more than make up for his lack of bulk, something Exeggutor can't do

Have not tryed it infight, but pokebattler says for my simulation against Golem, that Venasaur is superior to Sceptile by about 10 sec and has better TDO at lvl 35,5. My Exeggutor is maxed out and outperforms the lvl 35,5 Venasaur by another 10 seconds, so I expect Venasaur to outclass Exeggutor slightly at the same level.

This seems to be the case. Venusaur will only pass Exegguttor in damage when 35+ and there are some cases where they only differ in a few seconds TTW when maxed.

For Grass DPS: VW/FP Venusaur=BS/SB Exeggutor=Sceptile

For Gym Sweeping (after first round) and raids: VW/FP Venusaur>Sceptile>Exeggutor

For General Utility: C Exeggutor>VW/FP Venusaur> Sceptile

Probably that C/SoB Exeggutor is more of a generalist that can also be used as part of a Machamp solo team.
