Just caught a 100 ivs Lugia
It’s not shiny but still xD does Lugia has any utility in the metagame?

1. Tanking in Machamp raids. Useful if your team is often getting close to fainting and you want something that makes sure you never have to worry about that again. Multiple Mewtwos or Dragonites do the same job however.
2. One of the best potion-efficient gym attackers. If you're short on healing items but want to keep battling gyms, Lugia is your friend. It's much slower than optimal counters but it gets the job done.
3. You can do the Machamp 1-v-1 with it for fun. With the buffed Sky Attack and weather existing, it's gotten easier to pull it off.
Not much utility to be honest. Personally I like using it, even if that doesn't happen often.
1. I've 2x Mew2 at lvl36, 2x Dragonite at lvl40, 1x Rayquaza at lvl38. My problem is, I don't solo lvl 3 raid bosses (partly because I don't need these pokemons). My raid passes are exclusively for legendary raid bosses / tyranitar. If I were to solo in the future, I'd solo legendary raid bosses.
2. How long does it take for a lvl 40 lugia to win a lvl40 Blissey at full motivation?? Will it be excruciatingly slow?
1. Then you can safely ignore discussion about soloing. Many people find the ability to do so useful for when they can't attend a legendary raid and would need to spend their pass on tier 2, as there's a notable difference in rewards.
2. By my standards anything that's not Machamp is excruciatingly slow. Pokebattler says Lugia will take 80+ seconds if dodging charge moves. Probably preferable to use it to sweep the rest of the gym instead.
