mewtwo preferred movesets?

finally got my first one yesterday with c/sb, i know this is the best graded moveset on the site due to neutral dps... but i was wondering what moveset combo some of you players have had the most fun with using, im always a bigger fan of the quicker fast move that gains energy faster like psycho cut, and focus blast to me seems like a lot of fun to use, but would kind of defeat the purpose of a psychic mewtwo. what do you experienced mewtwo players have to say?

Right now the best moveset is hands down PC/SB because that makes Mewtwo a great counter to Lugia. I think it's also overall the best moveset to have, as it's not that much behind C/SB in neutral damage but also makes M2 a great counter to psychics.

I have never had mine with anything other than SB because it also performs matchups where Psychic would be good (ok against Machamp, better against Gengar) and I have a Machamp army that makes FB Mewtwo completely unnecessary. But I have changed the fast move a few times depending on the situation.

I agree. The only reason for FB is if you don’t have a few good Machamps or Hariyamas already. That being said, I find it disappointing that I can’t use Mewtwo with SB against the most common gym defenders. He often doesn’t even make my squad.

In the current gym meta, you just need three good fighters and some generalists to take on any gym.

Yea that’s the thing. He’s real good against fighting and psychic, but normal is immune to ghost attacks

By now everybody has 6+ Machamp and Tyranitar both better than Shadow ball and Focus Blast Mewtwo.

PC/SB Mewtwo is a better psychic and ghost type counter than Tyranitar since it has more DPS and isn't much behind in TDO.

I was leaning towards focus blast but man I really hate using 1 bar charge move. I am now leaning towards SB but normal is a big problem in gyms.

When Alakazam returned PC was much better than C, Lugia continues to prefer PC. They are pretty close otherwise, keep Shadowball and flip flop the fast...otherwise you can lose 5 to 7 charge TMs messing around for no real reason.

Possible it took you 5 to 6 months to get that first Mewtwo, give yourself a few months trying to get the move you ideally want.

They're all good for something, except for Hyper Beam.

Psycho Cut/Shadow Ball for current Lugia raid boss and also future legendaries. There is at least one Psychic legendary pokemon in each generation, so Mewtwo has a long term usage like Tyranitar.
