Is everyone experiencing a serious revive drought?

This was brought up a couple days ago and some people acted like nothing had changed but something did, recently. I'm easily spinning 20-30 pokestops to get one revive. What's up with that?? The only way I can stock up on them at all now is to spin a gym where I have a gold badge.

... or by winning a legendary raid, but that's usually a wash because of the mons that fell during battle.

People acted like it's nothing new because it isn't. The droprate of revives was lowered weeks ago, not recently.

There are some things you can do to fight it:
-Don't let your mons die. Dodge to activate the dodge glitch on charge moves that would kill you, then manually change to next mon. This works if you have plenty of potions but no revives
-Use throwaways. Level 20 raid catches, L30+ evolved mons etc. Anything you can use to do your battles that you won't need to immediately revive afterwards.
-Opt for more high TDO mons. Lugia and Ho-Oh are ideal gym battlers for this purpose.
-Use power ups as revives on good mons you were planning on powering up anyway.

By recently, I meant in the last few weeks. But thanks for confirming that it's a thing and It's not just me.
I understand all of your recommendations, agree with the strategy, and I think that none of them are any fun.
Not a fan or this change. At all. Now I have to sit under a gym for a while just to get my rations.Thought the point was to move around.

Well, to need revives, you need to do something that requires sitting under a gym as well. If you have any kind of a loop with several stops and the gym or several gyms, that's much more efficient than sitting at the gym. The droprate from normal stops is low but it is there.

Forgot to mention that you also frequently gain more revives than spend from lower than tier 5 raids. If you can't spend your daily pass on tier 5, consider doing a tier 2 with throwaways for the revives instead of a tier 3 solo for a likely net loss of revives.

I'm actually not sure if I spend more revives on Raids or by taking over hostile gyms. My community is pretty competitive and I'm hell-bent on keeping campus yellow.

I am down to 9 revives for 3 reasons
1. Im raiding too much
2. I hate sitting at a Gold gym and waiting for the disc to reload
3. I get 3x the amount of Golden Razz as I do revives from raids

I do maybe 10 Legendary raids a month and I do 1-2 T3's daily

It's my favorite part of the game too for sure. Niantic's gotta sell those Max Revive bundles I guess

In my area, even multi-accounters with 2 same team accounts are experiencing revive shortage on both their accounts. This has to be really bad for single account players. I hardly even battle gyms anymore so I have no idea what it's like now.

Yes, and it is soooo annoying!

I'm experiencing heavy revive drought, but I thought that was because I simply quit playing the game and stick to raids every now and then.

It has come to the point where I make use of the dodge glitch to avoid fainting out and switching Pokemon. Afterwards I can use potions to heal Pokenon instead of revives.

Still throwing away revives once in a while.

That just goes to show that people play the game a lot differently. I guess it's probably hard to strike a balance between people that play like you do and people that play like I do. I throw away red and blue balls, mostly.

... and if you scrolled down a little bit, you'd see another big difference between your bag and mine. I have 199 unused rare candies and 29 unused TM's at the moment.

And an EX pass for tomorrow :):):)

Sure, but I don’t complain that they need to change the game and give out less revives and more rare candy.

Bet you'd complain if you ran out of pokeballs and berries and they just handed out tons of revives and potions. That's my point...

like I said, hard to stike a balance, i guess

I am not actually complaining about anything.

I have repeatedly told people what they can do to get all the revives they could need. And people continue to decide to have a revive shortage.

Yes, I heard what your advice was. Basically, play like you do instead of how I enjoy playing and there's no prob. Got it.

I'm running out of pokeballs all the time even with the present droprates. But the solution is to grind more, not complain.

Side note: They DID change the game. I was fine with how it was, now I'm starved for revives.

We were after potions and revives midway through the gym tower system, too. A big reason some first created extra accounts, to help battle a gym and double place to discourage from being immediately flipped back. Revives were a part of that.

Ok, I hear ya know. I'm still trying to muscle my way up to compete with the big dogs. Multiple accounts? Just lil ole me over here. I was pretty stoked earlier today that i caught a 100% iv lvl 33 Yanma. Hooray for me. Big picture tho, you have to break some eggs to level up, and that requires a healthy supply of revives. I can't keep a top notch level 35 Blissey in a gym for 10 minutes where I'm at.

Game used to be a lot tougher, imo. If you are short on revives then maybe you raid a lot. Find a vulnerable place/time, put Blissey in and feed Blissey. People will start to back off if you do that enough

I feel like I just connected with you in a spiritual kind of of way. I will nurture my Blissey. and feed her. She will be like an only child to me.I shall no longer yearn for revives. This is the beginning of something special, I think...

Even when I was doing multiple raids in the same day, I never came close to having to worry about revives. I'm more likely to run low on Pokeballs.

Right. You definitely have a different strategy than I do if that's the case. What ever happened to the trading concept? I'd trade you 400 balls for 20 revives in a heartbeat

I raid quite a bit, especially solo's.

No shortage here, 240 Max Revives.

What does "quite a bit" mean? I did 4 Rayquaza raids on a 30 minute egg last week. Took some planning but whatever. Only caught one,but that's beside the point.

Up

ok, whatever. I have like, 240 pidgeys

I do mostly L5 raids where there are 20 trainers. I only need two to three mons and get more revives than I need.
